Richard Good, CF, UCLA

Is the in-game draft next Wednesday still (for setting lists)?

If so, was it really necessary to cut first round pick times to 2 hours? It almost seems like, starting this early and only doing two rounds, we could have maybe considered 2 hours per pick for both rounds. Kind of feels like we were rushing for no real reason (unless there is something else that was driving the pick times).

Knowing this group and its reputation I cut the pick times down knowing we had issues the last couple of drafts.

We far exceeded my expectations and I want to say a lot of it was advanced notice throughout, smaller Windows for time picking, and a more consistent communication line with lists and me texting guys throughout.

So yea in hindsight maybe it was too fast but on the flip side I'd say these items made it faster and prefer that imo.

Was just thinking this could be a data point for next season if we stick with 2 rounds. The first round seems to fly as people are eager to get that first pick in. Just something to consider (2 hours on round 2) if other people have any interest in that sort of change. Maybe it is the Ghost of Trendon past, but sometimes our fast feels too fast.

I feel like people are just saying were rushing because we started on Monday. I can pretty much guarantee it wouldn't be an issue if we started this Friday and finished in time for the sim but why chance it. This year was great and easy on the boss man

I hear ya dak and the schedule didn't time out where the draft is on a weekend and where we see our most delays in getting done timely so that is another factor as dub said.

I am all for pacing correctly and don't want to burn anyone out but good to know for next year regarding day and time limits but I am proud we finished so quickly as it lit a fire under some guys and a larger percentage were more prepared.

That being said we will have a pause next week as there is no way I can do a draft at 5 in the morning so we will see a delay on the draft day sim and may not run until the evening. Fair warning for next week.

You know if you guys just hire a scout that's drunk most of the time.....his highest rated prospects won't even be on anyone else's list. Makes it easy. I didn't even look at anyone else's draft picks. I was that confident my scout sold me on a couple of scrubs

I am not saying this to offend anyone but are the guys that have skipped picks active owners? It is hard for me to think of why they would not have made a pick yet.
