Another reason coaches don't matter.

I'm digging what nick is saying about realism and money.

I believe I bring it up every couple of years. If you are in the red you cannot take on more salary in a trade. Lets not spew realism and then not abide by it in all aspects, or at least the aspects that matter ($$$)

I try to keep up with signing my minor league coaches but forget to alot of the times and they go unfilled into the season. It's not something I care about, it hasn't made my guys progress faster so why waste money. If it's a money thing then figure out what everyone spends on coaches and take the average and deduct that every year

i just post their stats and say lien up in the order of wOBA anyways. they got it down at this point. the minors are a little suspect - a lot of blow n hookers. but they get thru it and excel i feel.

IMO, you either want realism or you don't.
I disagree with this 100%.

It's not about wanting realism all the time or not, I don't think that's the correct way to look at it.

It's about what's best for the league and gets the most immersion/interest going. Some things are better to deviate from real life, like the playoff format as I mentioned. Why can't I be for tons of realism in most spots but still like our current format?

we care about realism meanwhile a fictional town "Winterfell" or whatever the fuck it is, is in the game.

also if Daks at Winter, why cant Peay go to Pyongptong? Im sure WInterfell isnt in North America.

cmon people realism!! I dont want my guys fighting big white crawlers every time we go there.

We do have 3 pages going so far. How about that for your Monday morning immersion?

This will be enforced this year as we have already voted and made a decision. Be mindful in trade talks fellas.

I think our rule is only about cash, not adding salary, right?

I voted yes, just my opinion due to developing my players with some coaches at the minor league level. I have a decent farm system, and finding good and upcoming coaches is another aspect I enjoy, which may not be enjoying to other owners. It does not take that much time on my end. I understand and read opinions on this, and there are valid points, so whatever the majority wants, I am game.

It was only cash. It didn't forbid someone taking on salary in a trade that was in the red or projected to be in the red. Something I am completely against.

What about finding a middle ground assuming this ends as a yes vote. Major League coaches are mandatory and then 3/5 minor league teams must have coaches and the manager can decide whether it's all teams with coaches, just AAA/AA/A orAAA/A/R

For th record I'm for all coaches being mandatory across the board but trying to make it work for all

Deciding to hire or not hire coaches affects financials, correct?
Financials determine a lot of the flexibility and functions teams have regarding our league as a whole and success of the financial standards reign got us to, correct?
Hiring coaches and proper personnel affect your team financial as a whole as well as individual team budgeting.

For me it's not about immersion or it being flashy for fun but a key financial requirement we haven't enforced before that I think we need to.

Again my opinion after understanding things a little more which is why I put it to a vote and my details behind it.

Thank you for your vote and feedback Corey :)

Not having coaches circumvents the financial aspect just like putting 0 in scouting or player dev. I think if you're going to put in a minimum standard of operation (having all coaching spots full), then there needs to be a floor set for scouting and player dev as well. If you wanted to make it really fancy, you could put a ceiling on it also. You have the historical data on usage and could simple make it 20% of the previous year's league average (or find a round number in that range) and 80% of the previous year's average.

That's way too much shit to worry about. If we don't care about a team that is $100m in the red taking on a $20m salary in a trade then who cares about the rest of it.

We can keep going...

...if you don't apply your minimums or fill your coaching spots, you could receive a fine. That will solve the financial side of that component. If a team finishes the year in the top 50% of profit sharing, that fine is paid at 150% for coaches, due to the luxury tax.
