The amount of effort required to sign coaches is so minimal. That argument just won't hold water. If you use some common sense, you can do it about ever 2-3 seasons at most and spend less than 10min across 3-4 sims in the first off-season to get it done.

I've said it before, I doubt anyone can name more than a very small handful of their entire staff, or even their ML staff. Meaning, we don't really care about them as a whole IMO.
#1, they are an annoyance IMO

That sounds like something not worth having at all IMO if it's only worth 10 minutes every 2-3 seasons, thus providing no value that I can see to the league.

I laugh hearing some of the arguments or stances on this and some other things that go in this league.

Sometimes guys complain and try to use the sim/realism card but then sometimes they don't want it.

IMO, you either want realism or you don't.
Signing Coaches is a very basic function that requires minimal time/effort.
I feel we should make it where you have to have a coach.
But I also feel that we should not allow teams to spend $0 on player development and scouting either.
I also feel, if we can get the draft utility working that we should allow draft pick trading.

I am for making this league as real as we can as long as it does not make the commissioner's life hell.

The playoff format is the best example I can think of. We deviate from the real life/sim playoffs because our way adds more of the fun factor and immresion for the league.

That's the same basic premise behind why I think we should get rid of coaches, just on the opposite end. We should deviate from the sim factor because coaches aren't adding fun factor and are adding zero immersion/interest to the league. Signing coaches is just going through the motions, basically.

Maybe for you and the others that don't care.
I, for one, look at ratings and sign Coaches as soon as openingshe happen or some that I like, I offer them extensions.

If the league, as a whole, cared we would discuss coaches as the seasons go along, no?

Again, the league as a whole.

I know the argument is that it was previously voted on, so that proves owners do care. But i'm not convinced, I think that proves the owners want it for realism. But as you said in your previous post, it's funny how guys are selective with where they want their realism. I think this is one of those funny examples.

The major problem with the coaches vs no coaches right now is that a team can even have no coaches and still have the players remotely function. If you have 0 coaches in your ML system, who's submiting the line-up card to the ump each game? Who's pulling pitchers or pinch hitting for guys? Players on teams with no coaches at all should have 0 development for the year -- if we're talking sim.

But, since the game doesn't work this way there appears to be very little incentive to have good coaches in the minors.

And yet I still spend $20million+ a year on staff expences...

so you want realism? Any team in red is probably bankrupt and has to give up their spot and we find a new owner.

Ted youre 70 mil in debt? Thats true realism right there
