Pimp your ride thread
Re: Pimp your ride thread

Re: Pimp your ride thread
public transportation sucks in Miami, so unfortunately none of that.Weasel wrote:Seriously? That's awesome! I have so many questions, of love to be able to ditch a car, but not terribly realistic considering my job and locationDRiccio21 wrote:i haven't had a car in 3 years. it's been amazing.
Public transport for work? Bike? Uber?
i Uber everywhere and walk to office. i probably spend $20-30 bucks a week on Uber.
i used to carpool with my bro, we've always lived in the same building so we'd 'share' a car. now we both moved to the building near the office and that car is sitting in our office parking lot and hasn't been driven more than 3 times in 3 months.
my wife has a car for any longer trips we might need to take.

That's fantastic. Nice being metro where you can walk to grocery stores and whatnot, I'm a little jelly

My commute to work is roughly 4 minutes. It is prob the greatest thing ever. If LA wasn't so spread out I would do the Uber thing but that is not realistic where I live as a car is a necessity on the weekends.

I can go from turning off my alarm clock to walking into the hospital in the morning in 15 minutes. Cant beat itpacksyd2284 wrote:My commute to work is roughly 4 minutes. I miss living the 7 minutes away when I moved to Texas.
I do not miss apartment living and love our house.
So, I am leaning Durango after this video. That R/T is just sexy. I think we laughed earlier in this thread somewhere about the sound of engines or something like that but damn this gives me chills.

Re: Pimp your ride thread
I have a buddy that has the blacktop edition. It's D RT model not the SRT eight model but it runs pretty nice sounds pretty good and it's pretty plush inside for a Durango. He went from a ford explore that was pretty pimped out to the Durango. No regrets. Though the new Ford explores look pretty freaking dope. Had a brand-new one in New Jersey that I almost drove home.

Re: Pimp your ride thread
I've read really good things so far and real world people said they love it as well.
I found a great 2014, only 30k 'miles, 1 owner, RT edition.
One problem, it's white.

Re: Pimp your ride thread
3 days of negotiations, a visit to a small Texas town on the Oklahoma border, and numerous phone calls we got the deal done. We went back and forth on trade in value for my Ram but he finally caved and we got to a good point for a deal. First car not bought from spydie in the last 10 years or so.
Such a sweet SUV with a little oomph in it. It's basically a charger RT in an SUV package.
The white is growing on me.

Re: Pimp your ride thread
Very nice.
My wife has a Journey R/T AWD, it's built on an Avenger platform. It was the only smaller SUV that I could find that didn't have a the wheelwells raised in the rear. Things like the Escape, Edge, Murano, Sante Fe, Sorrento, and Terrain all have them raised, which makes it difficult to handle larger strollers, etc. In most cases, my G8 offered more functional storage capacity in the trunk. She loves the choice. I think it's great for her and for family travel, since it's loaded with entertainment and such. I don't think it's very comfortable for 4 adults though, as the rear seats are pretty cramped (3rd row flip up is next to useless). Very easy to drive and has good getup for a 'family' vehicle.
I still don't think I've put up pics of her SUV or my truck.

Re: Pimp your ride thread
My wife is in the jeep renegade now and she likes it for what it is. A smaller functional SUV for the kids and stroller space, great mpg, and peppy with a turbo.
She of course wants the Durango now. Good luck
