Coug, it is crazy to think that Luke Falk, the kid that committed to USC in 8th grade when Lane Kiffin was hired as coach, is now the leading passer in the country at Wazzu.....guess he did turn out alright.

And he is only a Sophomore. People talk about him like he is a Junior or a Senior. Hoping he plays it out to his Senior year. He'll possibly shatter all passing records in the Pac12 and possibly the country. We will see though. If he keeps getting abused like he was against UCLA he won't last that long.

He came out to California to play at Oaks Christian and was awful. Not sure if he was unhappy or what the deal was but really cool that he ended up being great. Also cool to see River Craycraft doing well, I coached against him in HS and he was a special talent.

He is an amazing possession receiver. Not spectacular, but man, 3rd down he is money. Not afraid to cross the middle. We missed him last week because of a hamstring I think.

So why do schools like OK St., Iowa et al get left out because their "strength of schedule" isn't up to par but Bama is about to play their 3rd FCS school this season and doesn't ever get knocked for strength of schedule.......this isn't your 2008 - 2012 SEC anymore.

Come on. How many ranked teams has Bama played already? They've beaten 5 teams currently ranked in the top 20(lost to 1) and 3 of them are currently in the top 10. Iowa has played 2 currently in the top 20 and Oklahoma State has played 1.

They were ranked at that time. LSU was a huge ass pretender, they lost to one of them (Ole Miss), the other 2, A & M and georgia are huge pretenders as well. I am not saying they do not belong in the top four, I am just tired of the argument that Iowa and Ok St play nobody, because Bama does as well.

As far as strength of schedule goes, they've played 6 ranked teams, whether you or I believe they are pretenders or not. That is all that matters.

It doesn't matter though, all of those teams have lost multiple games now and are pretenders, it isn't my opinion, it shows in the win loss column. Their schedule isn't anymore impressive to me than anyone elses out there.

i don't know the schedules well enough but as long as its current ranked teams, thats what matters. its like stanfords loss to northwestern looked terrible when it happened but now that they are a top 25 team, its not too bad.

Just off of looking, so I could be wrong but...

1. Their SOS is higher than those 2 teams, I'd assume without looking.

2. I think they actually haven't played an FCS team yet, so this will be their 1st.

3. Iowa and Okie State have already played FCS teams.

What's not an opinion, strength of schedule?

I get where packsy is coming from...I think a lot of the rated SEC teams are a bit overhyped. With that said, Alabama actually has had 1 of the hardest schedules in the country. It's not like Ok St hasn't enjoyed some cupcakes... they opened with Cent. Mich., Cent. Ark. and UTSA.Their hardest 2 games are likely ahead of them with Baylor / Oklahoma. As for Iowa, we can go pretty simple there. Alabama beat Wisconsin 35-17 in the 1st game of the season (props to them for going big out of the gate), while Iowa beat them 10-6 a few weeks later. Advantage Bama. The Iowa's toughest opponents have probably been Wisconsin, Pitt or Northwestern... of which only Northwestern was a big win. Not exactly flattering. They dodged Mich. St., Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State.

Strength of Schedule:

https://www.teamrankings.com/college-fo ... h-by-other

I love how Buckeye fans (none here) talk about how Iowa shouldn't be in the discussion because of their SoS, they are only ranked 3 spots ahead of the Hawkeyes. They will get their chances over the next couple of weeks to prove themselves though with the Spartans and the Wolverines still left on their schedule.

Any of you see a clear cut best team in College Football this year? I really think every team is beatable, even if they play their best ball that day.

I am surprised of how bad LSU has looked the last two weeks, only have watched them 3 times so far this year.

Is Alabama the best team this year? They sure are playing like it.

Iowa will lose next Friday!

I hate to say it, but the best team I've watched is OSU with JT Barrett @ QB. Their biggest obstacle is their secondary. They are young, but coming of age quickly. If they continue to grow like they have this season, I think they are the team to beat.

They don't have the best resume due to the loss, but if you're asking who is the best team, I think neutral field, who would be the 1 team I'd bet my money on above all others...I'd have to go with Bama.

FWIW, if I'm rankings teams for a CFP, I rank based on resumes, and would at least try my best to throw out the bias of who I think was the best team, in general

I agree with Bama, as much as I hate to say it. I'm ready for another 2 or 3 dominant teams to show up, OSU may be dominant but they have not impressed me at all this year. Anyone buying Clemson? I think Okie State can make it to the championship game if they can get thru their regular season schedule. They have enough offense and defense, unlike Baylor and TCU who are all offense.

I've always wondered how Nick Saban would do at Nebraska. The Huskers don't have the allure for recruits like they did in the 80's and 90's, limit of scholarships and you can watch damn near any team every weekend. That was a big selling point back then when you had maybe 10 games nationally televised each weekend.

Saban is probably the best coach in college football right now, but could he do it outside of the SEC/South?

What are you talking about? Bama isn't playing its 3rd FCS team of the season. Bama under Saban always schedules 3 cupcakes and a 1 premium OOC. Only 1 FCS team a year. Bama has played a pretty damn tough schedule this year.
