Re: NFL Thread
I just don't understand how you lose a finger in a firework accident, especially as an adult. That has to be a pretty big firework, something like the M80? I've looked previously and you can't find those anymore with the same amount of bang as they had as when we were kids. I refuse to hold onto big fireworks when lighting them, lady fingers or black jacks hurt but won't take a finger off.

Re: NFL Thread
It depends on the injury.
It may not have blown it off like we are thinking and a finger is laying on the floor. it may have been a ridiculously bad burn with major nerve damage and needed to be amputated.
Paging Dr. Weasel..

You obviously haven't been shopping for fireworks lately.GeorgesGoons wrote:I just don't understand how you lose a finger in a firework accident, especially as an adult. Re: NFL Thread
I haven't. Fireworks are illegal in Colorado Springs. My son did buy $70 worth of fireworks back in Omaha though. He said he burnt himself a couple of times.The_Niddler wrote:You obviously haven't been shopping for fireworks lately.GeorgesGoons wrote:I just don't understand how you lose a finger in a firework accident, especially as an adult. Re: NFL Thread
This is what im talking about....its pretty cool and quite affordable. kids love just pushing the button to ignite. seems cool and futuristic I guess..ReignOnU wrote:texasfan4444 wrote:I used pvc tubes, which help contain the blast if it blows in the tube to light off even the Roman candles. We make everyone do this specially any kids. Not once did I light anything in my hand. We usually sting mortars together and use a remote fuse igniter for the big things. I was usually 30 feet from the fireworks before anything was lit on fire. Next year we are getting a remote unit that will allow for up to 12 remote firing fuses. It's actually cheap on Amazon.
I get your point Dave. I really do. It just seems silly that someone would be that careless specially during contract negotiations. It's something I wouldn't put myself through for the sake of doing something.
We had 2 incidents at our annual event this year... pretty eye opening. We use tubes and have firing pallets constructed as well. Unfortunately, someone brought a bunch of smaller stuff that they tried to fire out of 1 of the tubes and it took a wicked launch right out of the larger tube and shot towards the edge of the crowd. It actually hit a spectator and burned him pretty good (admittedly wasn't paying attention or he probably could have dodged it... we were a good distance away). The 2nd incident involved a multishot shifting and shooting sideways over a neighbor's horse field, about 200yds away.
I don't think it's going to sway us from putting on a huge show, but we're going to continue to look for ways to try to make it safe.
Spoiler!

Just don't try and launch one of the top of your head like that guy in Maine.

The Saints released this guy, and he's pretty much lost his mind. He went to Twitter under his girlfriend's account and just started blasting the Saints and talking about Sean Payton cheating and one of the Olinemen not playing well since finding out his wife was cheating on him(hopefully not with Sean Payton)shel311 wrote:He's one of those smaller, edge rushing defensive ends. Is he good or just meh?shel311 wrote:The dude in the white swinging the belt is linebacker Junior Gallette from the Saints.
He just signed a contract(this offseason) with $23mil guaranteed.
With every tweet read, I just think that's $1mil lost, there goes another $1mil...and another.

Sad day when nothing has been discussed about Tom "Deflate" Brady...
Upheld. I just read on another board that Brady destroyed a phone that the investigators wanted to gather over 10000 texts from.
"On or shortly before March 6, the day that Tom Brady met with independent investigator Ted Wells and his colleagues, Brady directed that the cell phone he had used for the prior four months be destroyed. He did so even though he was aware that the investigators had requested access to text messages and other electronic information that had been stored on that phone," the league's statement read. "During the four months that the cell phone was in use, Brady had exchanged nearly 10,000 text messages, none of which can now be retrieved from that device. The destruction of the cell phone was not disclosed until June 18, almost four months after the investigators had first sought electronic information from Brady."
