If you want to play Sawgrass this Friday, let me know ASAP. I have a tee time and can fit 3 other people if you want to play. It's usually $340, but it will only be $160.
Course right down the road here has an exact replica of the 17th island green, pretty awesome hole to play
I actually was about 3 inches away from a hole in one on 13, and I think it helped take away some nerves on 17. Hit it to about 20 feet on 17, and left the birdie a few inches short. I was pissed, but was so happy I hit the green that it didn't matter lol

update:

i'm playing in the mid 90's consistently now

the golf tags have helped a bunch being able to look over my distances.

my observations:

- i need a new driver or need to work on my driving. i only hit my drives like 210. which is odd cause i hit my 3 hybrid 200-205 on average.
- i hit my 6-9 really well, almost always 'close' to target and consistent distances
- i can chip pretty well just off the green but not great pitching from that 15-30 yard range (i just short arm it and forget to accelerate thru and leave it short)
- my SW and PW are hit or miss. i think its more mental cause i can do all sorts of shots on the practice area with flops and hitting distances from 60-100. but on course i don't seem to be as consistent
- i'm far better out of the sand but i still occassionally smash it over the green but at least i get it out rather than being stuck
- i average 2.1 putts per hole. i feel comfortable putting but i look like a fool. i reverse grip (or whatever its called) and i bend over elbows out like michelle wie. its the only way i can get a pure end over end roll so i do it.

so with all that said, i think if i could get to 250 average on my driver i'd be able to play alot more with my comfortable irons rather than needing to hit hybrid or 4,5 iron on my second shot.

i'm looking at the Titleist 915 d2, anyone here have any golf hookups on clubs (seeit?) or suggest a different driver? my 2 close buddies who are real good and don't know each other both use that driver so i figured it was a good one.

all your reviews were spot on all accounts.

its not necessary but it's certainly more convenient on little things you don't even realize you need it for.

as for the golf part of watch, i like having the distances on my wrist. i 'rush' thru my rounds, probably finish my average round in around 3 hours (played in 2:30 on sunday) but if i took more time to look thru my app i think it'd be beneficial as you can look at the map of the hole on the phone but not the watch.

i wear the thing all the time now and it does all the same stuff the Fitbit does with the heart monitor, steps taken, etc. so that works too.

If you're going to spend any real money on a driver I'd suggest you get fitted at a shop (or at least have them fit you and buy it somewhere else if you can find a deal). Your driver distance can be greatly affected by swing speed, launch angle, and spin. Tweaking the club angle and the shaft stiffness to your swing would help you the most. And, if you want, learning to hit a draw off the tee without messing with your other shots too much will help as well.

Titleist typically used to be much harder to hit drivers, but they may have gone a little easier in order to sell more to the public in recent years. You should be able to go to a golf shot and hit multiple demo drivers in different configurations (if you want to try to figure out loft and shaft combinations yourself). Also, "Regular", "Stiff" and "Extra Stiff" aren't universal shaft stiffness values, they will vary by the manufacturer of the shaft. A good shop you'll be able to hit on a launch monitor that will project distance for you and also help tune the club type and set-up to maximize this for you. Do you have a Golfsmith near you? I wouldn't recommend buying there as their prices aren't very good (though you can get some very lightly used clubs for good prices on occasion) but they do have a decent area to test (if it is like the one near me).

I've used the Taylormade R series drivers for years and have loved them, although I don't know much different

I returned it after a week. I can't wear it at work so the golf app was my primary reason for it, and it turns out I'm a bitch and don't like wearing something on my wrist during the round. It was cool to have the info, but I couldn't justify spending the money to "tolerate" it during the round and not use it otherwise

I'd be interested in one of these but can't stand wearing watches at all in general...though I didn't know that makes me a bitch. Now I feel like I need to man up and get one!!!

Clean it? Also you can easily change the bands for a rubber or plastic one for work and golf.

You give up on things too soon. You remind me of when I was younger.

I have an older model D2 and I really like it. Solid feel, doesn't feel comically oversized, but still offers the feel and power.

I am going in 2 weeks for the first time in about 2 years or so. I have a laughably bad starter set of Top Flite clubs with a blend of play it again hybrids, wedges and putters.

I'd love to upgrade but don't want to spend a ton. Also I'm. 6'3 and I've been told to consistently I shouldn't play with "stock" clubs.

Glad to join the cool golf club here!

we've been over this multiple times.

he's shockingly tall when you meet him compared to pics.

i'm 6 ft (6'1 in the program!) and i was a midget compared to him and AJ.

corey has Lebby-itis. body types are identical to me when you see em on tv then meet them in person.
