Plantar sucks. Been dealing with it for 5-6 years.
Luckily shoe implants work for me, but before I found those, like you guys, a few mornings were downright ridiculous when putting your feet on the floor first thing.

Recently was brought on as a writer for a soccer blog in Orlando, covering our team here (USL affiliate). Through this, I've now obtained a press pass for the rest of the season, have a press pass to the USMNT match in Nashville 4th of July weekend, and was asked to do color commentary for a US Open Cup match this week, which was one of the coolest things I've ever gotten to do.

Now I've approached, and been approved by, US Soccer to do a long form article on the team, the fanbase here, and the run they're on. I'm extremely excited. This is the career path I would've taken had I not allowed my ex-fiance to talk me into business so long ago. I'm not getting paid for any of this, but the experience and the networking I'm getting is invaluable. I've gotten to speak with Bob Valvano on multiple occasions and will be working some events w him later this year, and it's all from the work I've done the past year and a half.

My second article can be found here. I appreciate the links, as they will help us gain traction in search results and I'm open to any critiquing (constructive, at least lol) that you guys want to throw my way!

I told you, volunteer your time, meet people, and do good work (Which I knew you would) and you can go far in sports. You've got the talent and the drive, keep firing at it and you'll catch a break eventually.

Very cool man, very happy for you

So recently there was a "Stop the Violence" charity basketball game in St Louis, and Lil Wayne was the coach of one of the teams. He didn't like some of the calls going against his team, so he tried to fight one of the refs and allegedly spit at the ref.

That's a true story

Apparently, the best thing I did was catch it soon. Two Thursdays ago, I had a curious pain in my heel but I just figured it was nothing. It got progressively worse up until Sunday when I was afraid to lift my foot off the ground or not walk totally flat-footed because of that OH-MY-FUCKING-GOD lightning bolt pain in the heel that feels like it is ripping away. I almost cried in front of a customer. Luckily, one of them is a VIP customer/podiatrist. I spoke with him and I had a tentative appointment on last Wednesday but I didn't go because his exercises have helped a lot plus another thing I'll say in a bit. I do these when I wake up ...

- Put a belt under my toes while me heel is on the ground and lift, presumably stretching out the plantar.
- When I am watching TV or playing video games, I have a frozen water bottle that I roll back and forth under my foot.

That said, the mornings still suck - and now my other fucking leg is hurting from spending a week limping on it - but that ripping pain is gone. Thank god.

Also, that other thing I mentioned was buying a proper sneaker. Some ass at work recommended Nike Free running sneakers. So I bought them. Man, are they comfortable! I've never used a running show before. MOTHERFUCKER! They have NO heel support at all (go figure, right?) and that's what did me in. Ultimately, I am going to get a custom thing made me for me by the aforementioned doctor.

Nice! The frozen water bottle is a trick I used to tell patients when I was a student, Ive heard people using frozen tennis balls too. Either way, stretching is about the extent of it. If I recall/understood the pathology correctly, its from micro-tears in your plantar fascia causing 'scarring' (for lack of a better word). When you sleep, these tears/adhesions constrict, thus the pain in the morning until stretched. Proper arch support (including braces that can keep your foot in an extended position overnight) prevents the constriction and can help prevent that painful feeling of having to stretch the fascia.

Achilles pain is not plantar fasciitis. Pain in the heel and/or along the arch, worse in the morning and improving through the day? Yes
