So, all the talk is that Brady lied or wasn't fortcoming or whatever and that was part of the reason he got as many as 4 games. Ted Wells did radio interviews(which is odd enough in its own right IMO), and he mentioned that he never asked Brady for his cell phone(it was reported that Brady refused to turn it over), and he also interviewed Brady for almost an entire day, but virtually nothing of that interview is in the Wells Report.

Also interesting to note, during the Ray Rice scandal, Goodell supposedly also refused to turn over his personal cell phone :)

Adam Schefter is reporting, or maybe predicting, that Bradys suspension will be overturned.

Please let this happen to Goodell :)

It'll probably be overturned or reduced like every other time Goodell oversteps his boundaries and punishes too harshly. :)
Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman reports commissioner Roger Goodell will personally preside over Tom Brady's appeal of his four-game suspension. It's been confirmed by ESPN's Ed Werder. Freeman calls the development "huge and unexpected." The NFLPA had been seeking a neutral arbitrator. With Goodell personally taking responsibility for the case, he's putting the result squarely on his shoulders. We'd interpret it as the commissioner looking for an out after a week of brutal publicity. It wouldn't be shocking if Brady's four-game ban was slashed to 1-2 games. Although it's become clear there were willful rule violations by the Pats, this is a mole hill that's become a mountain. Ball pressure simply isn't that big of an advantage, and appears to be a rule that is skirted league wide, not just in New England.

I'm not saying the suspension is right, I'm not saying it's wrong, but I cannot understand where people can't see why underinflated footballs isn't a big deal. If a quarterback has small hands, an underinflated ball is easier to grasp. I don't know what size hands he has, but I can't imagine that it was necessary for him to need the ball to be underinflated. It obviously has been blown out of proportion, but it wouldn't be Goodell or the NFL if there wasn't some kind of controversy or media frenzy over balls...

I don't think it's a big deal at all, just like I don't think it's a big deal that Aaron Rodgers admitted to overinflating balls and Jerry Rice admitted to using stickem.

No one cares about them 2 admitting to what amounts to the exact same type of attempts at cheating.

i am one of the few who doesn't think that guys should be suspended for off field stuff and should be suspended for this type of stuff.

if you get in trouble off the field, you should face criminal penalties and be forced to serve whatever punishment they deem appropriate. and if you cheat, break rules, whatever in the game then you should face penalties from the league. i don't know that this is the appropriate punishment, but i have no problems with guys being penalized for cheating rules.

Completely agree.

I just don't agree with how harsh the punishment was in this instance.

What would you have wanted? A fine is nothing to these guys... it doesn't get through to them.

1 game? 2?

I obviously haven't read the report, i've read some articles here and there, but I still don't see where the obvious evidence against Brady is. I assume the few things I've seen in the media would obviously be the most obvious things, and I still don't see where any of it directly implicates or proves Brady wanted balls deflated to levels below what is allowed.

Not saying it's not out there, just haven't seen it.

What is funny is, and I haven't researched myself, but it is assumed the Patriots will actually make money if the suspension holds? Or does lost pay go to the NFL "Charities"?

I also agree with you here. Maybe it is the baseball culture that has created this way of thinking. Hell, a guy can be caught with Cocaine 7, 8 or more times and still have a job in the MLB. Doctor a baseball and heads roll...
