College Football 2015

Post by Cnasty »

Season is only a few months away but before we get started, a word from the messiah of the FSU program:
When legendary Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden speaks for the school and the football community, we listen. On Tuesday, Bowden told SEC Network's Paul Finebaum that Jameis Winston was an "embarrassment" to FSU.

"I think it's a consensus among FSU fans and boosters that [Winston] was an embarrassment to the University," Bowden said via Finebaum.

Give me the embarrassment and a title over 2 seasons as opposed to neither.

Just give my team a quarterback, any means necessary!!!

Imagine that. Paul Finebaum misquoting him. He said "he embarrassed himself and the university at times off the field but he is young". He also said he was one of, if not the best in FSU history.
On a different note, is Golson going to transfer to FSU?

if i'm not misrembering, there was a clear pause after '...university'. then he said 'the good thing is that he's young and he can learn from it' or something along those lines.

so he wasn't misquoted. you can debate if it was taken out of context but he absolutely said what people are reporting.

What was tweeted by Finebaum was a headline grabber. He didn't post the whole quote and Bowden was laughing during his answer. Good ole Bobby.

Good to see FSU fans still hanging tough like NKOTB with Jameis even though he is gone.

Finebaum is just a dipshit. It really doesn't have as much to do with Winston as it does with "Fuck Finebaum".

No opinion on Golson? If he does transfer to FSU, I don't think he will be the starter. I wouldn't mind him coming to try and take the position though.

Golson visited UF on Tuesday. Do. Not. Want. I also don't see why he would want to come here since the OL situation is just farcical at this point.

keep reading that it's pretty solid FSU for him.

I am just hoping to not get blown-out every other game to end this year.

It would seem like if he wanted to play in the SEC and have some moderate success he'd go to South Carolina and play for Spurrier.

We will take him at Texas. We will take anyone at this point.

Being reported Bama feels Golson won't be granted a waiver by the SEC.

Florida is getting Bama/Oregon St QB Luke Del Rio.

LSU is supposedly going bankrupt. So what to do?? Build a lazy river of course!!!
Amid rumors of "financial exigency," LSU has decided the best use of their limited funds is to build a sick lazy river that spells out LSU!

The university claims this will attract new students and retain the ones currently at the school. It will go up as part of a complete revamping of LSU's athletic and recreational facilities. Construction began in November and its anticipated end date is 2016.

While the problem with building a Disney resort feature in the face of financial ruin might seem obvious, student body president Andrew Mahtook says there's actually no conflict of interest, because the pool's funding comes from student fees:

"It doesn’t touch the funding that goes into teachers salaries, funds courses, or anything like that," Mahtook said. "The funding for ‘lazy river’ was voted on by the student body as an approved self-assessment fee."

Whether or not that argument holds water (like a pool!) remains to be seen. The only thing I know for sure is that I've never been more interested in college athletics.

I have limited financial knowledge and haven't read one thing about it, but I feel as though I can say this without fear: nothing at Louisiana State is going bankrupt.

Retain students huh? Maybe if Bowling Green had invested in a lazy river I would've stayed in school!!!
