Once again UofL is doing all they can to ensure that we have no chance of ever getting an NBA team. I'm really getting tired of it.
Taxpayers pay to build an arena for them that is losing money (check that, bleeding money) every year because UofL has to approve any concerts or events that take place at the arena, including the 8 months of the year they aren't playing there....they get a sweet lease that sees them paying very little compared to the money paid on the bonds every year....and we have chances to get an NBA team in here to help the economy and help pay for the place, and they fight tooth and nail to block it.
Getting really old. This market has the top viewership for college basketball in the nation for like 20 years running (especially come tournament time) and is basketball crazy, a pro team would do great here. And we'll never get a chance to have one because the university is afraid they'll lose some season ticket sales.
That said, I am absolutely getting tickets for the Heat-Pelicans exhibition game at the YUM Center in October.
S14: N Texas 7-1

S24-26: Kentucky 8-5, 5-7, 5-7
Career: 102-61
My favorite is when the guy blows by him, he does that little reach from behind so he appears to be giving effort, and then does the pouty stand-and-stare routine like he's saying "Where's the help?"

I like the couple of times he puts his hand up to say, "my bad"
1. Indiana over 8. Atlanta 4-0 -- Everyone talks about 'are they back?' suddenly the Pacers are 'for real again' as they look sharp against Hawks.
2. Miami over 7. Charlotte 4-1 -- Heat win games 1,2,3 Wade rests game 4 and they lose, he rests again game 5 and they win. Charlotte is tops in the league in TO ratio, if they don't turn it over these games could be closer than most expect as Miami typically kills teams off transition but may not get as many chances but Charlotte doesn't score the ball well. Lot of lazy analysis about Heat 'trying to turn it on' defensively.
6. Brooklyn over 3. Toronto 4-3 -- Toronto wins game 1, they lose a heat breaker somewhere along the way they should win and it costs them. Even series and i think Toronto is better team, just not sure i trust Derozan enough yet to carry them thru condensed games with less possessions.
4. Chicago over 5. Washington 4-2 -- i'd love to pick Washington cause i think they can win it, but not sure they have the fire power. These are going to be some ugly low scoring games.
1. Indiana over 4. Chicago 4-2 -- Couple fights in this series, West and Noah try to kill each other and get suspsended a game each. Rumors start to fly that Rose is going to play and even dresses in game 6 but doesn't play.
2. Miami over 6. Brooklyn 4-1 -- Miami plays motivated for 1st time since last playoffs after they got swept in regular season by Brooklyn. Brooklyn self destructs.
2. Miami over 1. Indiana 4-2 -- Close competitive series, Lebron struggles and Bosh plays great to carry them. Paul George starts to get alot of criticism after Lebron shuts him down.
West
1. San Antonio over 8. Dallas 4-2 -- Dallas shoots the ball well enough to steal a couple, Dirk flashes brilliance. People start to doubt if the Spurs are for real again. Swelly has a mini heart attack when series goes back to Dallas even.
2. OKC over 7. Memphis 4-1 -- Would love to watch Memphis slow it down enough to make the series competitive but i don't love the matchup for Memphis. Cliche take, but Westbrook speed overwhelms Grizzlies as Memphis likes to play the slowest pace in the league. Memphis needs to control pace and create turnovers if they are to keep it closer than i predict.
3. LA over 6. GS 4-3 -- GS plays great defense which goes under appreciated cause everyone focuses on Splash bros. but they are 3rd in league in def eff. If they were playing anyone except Chris Paul, i'd probably have picked them to win. But CP3 can offset alot of issues.
4. Houston over #5 Portland 4-1 -- Houston plays great and opens alot of eyes. Howard has a 20-20 game along the way. Houston gets hot one game and scores 120+. Portland is good, but Houston is better.
#4 Houston over #1 San Antonio 4-3 -- i don't really believe this but i am predicting all chalk so its time to shake it up. Houston is going to have to play out of their minds to beat SA. I think they can.
#3. LA over #2 OKC 4-2 -- I am a CP3 lover. He puts on a clinic and Westbrook vs CP3 have a few legendary back and forths.
#3 LA over #4 Houston 4-2 -- I like both of these teams, Houston is 2nd in NBA in TS% and LA is 4th. Both teams are very similar but LA has CP3 and plays slightly better defense. They protect the ball enough to get thru the West. Deandre Jordan and Dwight Howard comparisons get a little silly.
Finals
#2 Miami over #3 LA 4-2 -- Lebron vs CP3 ... my dream finals. 2 of the best players who have ever played. I wouldn't mind either team winning, i obviously pull for Miami being my local team but a CP3 ring would be very sweet. Unfortunately for Clips, i think the Heat really do 'turn it on' defensively in this series. Some really interesting matchups as Lebron tries to guard CP3 occasionally then when Jordan starts to dominate he gets forced to guard downlow vs Blake and Jordan. Jamal Crawford puts on a show in 1 game and then disappears in all the rest.
West is going to be awesome to watch... i don't think anyone is out of it other than maybe Dallas. I don't have many 'original' opinions mostly because the NBA is pretty standard with the amount of possessions in games, the best team with the best players typically win 7 game series.
