The three days between the Sunday games and the first Sweet 16 games are some of the worst sports days of the year.

Its like a nice warm cup of milk or a nice book to get you sleepy and tired with how they play.
Apparently great defense and winning basketball is now boring to Cnasty.

its Hoiberg vs Ollile.

both played in college at same time, both NBA guys that came back to coach their alma maters... plus i'm sure Bomani will use the black vs white angle as well. pretty cool story.

Now I'm reading that Wake Forest is after him too. At this point with Syracuse and Pitt in the ACC and Louisville soon to follow I have to think Marquette is the better of the two jobs. Either way, I think he's a good mid-major coach who gets a lot of mileage out of the "Havoc" which is more of a gimmick with a marketable name than anything. It's not like full court pressure and half court trapping are some new innovation. I think he'll quickly be exposed if he moves up a level, especially if he can't get the better athletes which has been the real secret of his success.

I saw a few pages back you guys were commenting on Memphis coach being a terrible coach. I remember after they beat Louisville one of the two times this season he was being interviewed after the game and thinking to myself "no way this guy is in charge of a major college program." Just from that thirty seconds of talking I could tell he was clueless.

He's your quintessential "Recruit athletes/Roll the ball out" coach. You'll find more strategy at your local 3-on-3 tournament.

i like any coach that has a system and that executes it.

i'm sure if Boeheim was at VCU running that zone we'd say it was a gimmick if he ran it at Syracuse.

typically, for me, i don't need a coach to run a system i 'like' to appreciate him. i just need the coach to have an identity, know it and build off that.

i hate full court pressing unless my team is far better than my opponent and i want to maximize possessions. but with that said, i actually like Smart because he runs his shit. offensively he's pretty blah. they basically live off transition points.
