Thinking about how much attention I pay to it now, I'd say that I've watched around 35-40 full matches this year. (by watch, I consider having them on while I'm working @ home as watching too) By comparison, I've watched about 25 hours of the NBA this season. Maybe 5 hours of college basketball. Soccer is easily my 2nd most watched sport... and I'd venture to say that the only reason it's not #1 is because every Sunday is worth 6 hours of the Red Zone channel.
Ditto. For me it's UK basketball/football, and then soccer. And then NFL.
I used to think it was a stupid sport, then I went to college and my best friend my freshman year was on the UK soccer team, got me to sit down and watch a Champions League match, can't remember who United was playing but I was mesmerized by the talent and skill they possessed (Giggs, Scholes, Beckham, Keane, etc). Became a United fan that day. Now that the matches are on TV and internet all the time, I've just grown into even more of a fan.
