Toronto is spending $100M on Transfer fees/contract. MLSE is rich beyond words so I love that they accept their gonna be in the red for a few years trying to build a soccer program here. Even expanding BMO field.

Defoe isn't Henry. He's lazy and inconsistent. As long as you don't expect a ton from him, you won't be disappointed.

Bradley, on the other hand, will instantly be one of the best CMs in the MLS.

Louisville is actually trying to get the USL team from Orlando that needs to be relocated due to them getting an MLS team. Their owners (who also own the MLS team, one of which is a chairman of Stoke City) meet with us on Tuesday to discuss moving here. Could be the first step towards us getting an MLS team by 2020.

Lol not sure what the name would be. We've got a grassroots organization here that is working to get a pro team. Looking forward to meeting with the owners on Tuesday. I'd also love to get a job w them if they do move it here. Their board has already voted and agreed that, if the owners come away impressed w the group and the city, that they will move here, so it's a very big meeting.

Columbus is Toronto's "rival" for whatever reason so fuck Columbus

Columbus actually has an affiliation with a local club (Dayton Dutch Lions), but it just started and the DDL actually as a bit of a heated history with the CC. During a game between the 2, a DDL player ended the career of a Crew player with an alleged dirty tackle. Only the most loyal Crew fans know the history on that though. The affiliation between the 2 means that the Crew will send at least 4 players down to the DDL each season. So it exposes the Crew brand into the Dayton area even more and helps the DDL by giving them some superior level players. In theory, a win-win.

Team plays so much better when he is directing things in midfield. That said, Donovan and Howard are better players but we can win without them.

MLS to euro soccer leagues is like dog shit under your foot. I wouldnt pump my chest too hard about Canadian teams to American. Watch out for the NY Redbulls and LA Galaxy!!!

people just dont understand that Toronto is a major city in the world, not just Canada. Toronto is the 5th largest population in North America and MLSE is wealthy beyond words. Leiweke even said signing 3 DP's is "financial suicide" but what does that matter when the Leafs are valued at over a billion dollars?

I think the MLS needs teams to do this, if they can afford to take the hit. That's the key though. We can't have the Crew/Chivas run out and try signing these guys if they can't financially handle it. I'm glad Toronto is willing to go for it though. Hopefully this new Florida club jumps right in with the same approach.

No I agree with Toronto, Seattle makes sense b/c they are so bat shit crazy about soccer and have the attendance to back it up, LA has experience with it.

I would love to see the MLS really separate itself and evolve into a more traditional league.

7 yrs of absolute dog shit in Toronto, and we have like a 18k stadium and 15 000 season ticket holders. Toronto is so multi cultural I'm surprised we havent jumped on the soccer wagon sooner. Come to Toronto during World CUp or Euro Cup its insanity. whole streets shut down by certain countries (italy, portugal, greece and spain come to mind) and they just party. fuck its great.

Only reason I cheer for Greece is cause the big greek district of hot ass girls is like 5 major blocks away Italians are too far (west toronto)

Drake got Defoe, but apparently a lot of euro players talk about finsihing up in the MLS. makes sense since most euro careers are done between 28-32 and you can probably play til 36 in the MLS with the difference in talent.
