FDRish
the world works in cycles...

natural progressions, natural retracements.

sure, some policies make things better/worse and can speed up processes or slow them down but for the most part everything always works in the same cycles over and over and over again because we are human and for as long as we've been human we've always been polluted by human emotions.

we don't have the entreprenurial spirit in our country anymore because we are fat and happy. our grandparents migrated over for a better life, we were given the better life. its natural, it happens to all leading civilizations. someone else is hungrier and they take over.

we think we 'deserve' rights while other countries are fighting (literally) for their lives to get theirs. we use our army and our military to strong arm ourselves to stay on top until hopefully we can get out of the funk... but there is a good chance we might not ever get out of the funk unless we see some serious change in character (which is certainly possible).

but its bullshit to think that some president or policy came in and changed the path of our country... its simply not possible. it might speed it up or slow it down, but this was coming regardless.

Started with Woodrow Wilson, FDR pushed it over the edge. To say otherwise is to ignore, or be ignorant of, history.

So everything was just peachy and there was no corruption or anything ever in politics before the early 1900s?

Dave is spot on. I'm voting for Romney. I think Obama is a socialist at heart and despises capitalism. Another 4 years of laws being cramed down your throat to reqire shit and there will be no more economic booms.

Didn't say that. But the policies/institutions put in place by these two played a huge part in the growth of the government.

The two-party system is doomed to fail. Whoever holds the majority just has to hold the majority to get their shit through. The three party system at least requires some working together and it keeps the nation from becoming polarized in two directions. That's what we have now. Have you heard any constructive criticism or acknowledgement of the "other guy" making a good point in the last 10-20 years? No, it's all "my guy/their guy", or "that guy is a liar/crook/socialist/facist/etc". People care more about the fucking letter before/after a candidates name than anything else. You want to know how stupid this nation is, and how much they look to talking heads to tell them what to think and do? Just look at how many "Obama is a Muslim" comments you see/hear. Like him or not, there's no evidence to back that up. There are a million other claims, about both of these candidates, that are stupid and baseless, but that would require people to stop repeating what Rush told them and actually do their own research, and they're too lazy to do something like that. I mean, that would require closing Facebook and TMZ and actually reading.

When you can ask someone what color purse so and so was carrying down the red carpet this weekend, or how many times the two idiots from Twilight have broken up and gotten back together, and they can give you an answer in a heartbeat.....but then they look like you asked them a quantum physics question when you asked them to name one major piece of legislation that a candidate has passed in the past few years, you know this country is in trouble.

we could have 100 candidates and 100 different parties.

it wouldn't make that much of a difference.

We essentially need to elect people that cannot be influenced by power and money.

Unfortunately, we don't have any of those.

Those who desire power are the least fit to wield it.

its always comical to me that people fall for the 'democrats are for the people' bullshit.

you realize they just make the gov't bigger then pass that money to their 'boys' to get the jobs and they are corrupt just like the rest of them. just a different way of being a fraud. they don't give a fuck about you, any of them.

nobody is changing the rich/poor issue other than economic development. the worst thing for the poor is for capitalism to get water'd down cause then the rich will be the only ones with a chance and the poor will be stuck always being poor.

but what the fuck do i know.

Beefy has uncovered, and revealed to us last night during Call of Duty, that Romney intends to outsource our military jobs to China. I'm still unsure if he was joking or not.
