explain how he is supposed to tackle him on that play. watch the video and feel free to explain it to me. While watching the game gruden (it may have even been the olf referee they talk to during games) said it was a "pocket rule"shel311 wrote:http://www.nfl.com/rulebook/protectionofpasser

Re: NFL Thread
Just providing a link to the rule, is all.
My explanation of how he is supposed to tackle him won't help the situation

i said 2 times that if it goes by what you said its certainly not a penalty.
but what i thought was that a qb couldn't get hit below the knees... if thats what the rule is, then its a penalty.
i also said i have NO IDEA about the rules.
how does that turn into you giving me that 5th grade reply.

Fwiw, I have no clue of the rules, just pointing out that link says otherwise.

how clear do i need to be about that? i'm asking you or one of the other 120 football experts we have here.
you got questions about basketball or stocks, i'm your guy. i don't know shit about football rules.
from my undertanding, no. you can't tackle a qb with the ball below his knees. i'm not saying its right or thats what i think the rules should be, but thats what they are FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND (again, which isn't much)
