Re: NFL Thread
Did the Bucs Dline really do anything different than any other Dline, including NYG, would do in a 3rd or 4th and inches situation?
Get low and drive the oline back.
The only difference was the team not ready for it. Again, that's not the Bucs fault.

Re: NFL Thread
A chop block is when someone is already engaged with another player and they then go for the legs, this was not that at all.
You can make the argument they weren't going for knees but were going for the ball which was just as low.
Coughlin is a whiny old man and a hypocrite

what are you making up? Have you ever played football? loldakshdar wrote:What NFL team has ever preached going "all out" on a kneel down? Plus, it was the method of the "bull rush" being diving at the offensive line's legs. NFL players, in general, tend to be very unhappy when people hit them at or below the knee because that can be the end of their career and the end of the non-guaranteed contract. It is essentially a chop block, which is illegal if the offensive player does it (and should be if the defensive player does, if it isn't already).shel311 wrote:mbyrd75 wrote:Brandon weeden knows a thing or two about fumbling the snap on a kneel down. There ya go.
I bet Coughlin preaches playing to the whistle and never quitting and going all out until the game is over.
That's what Tampa did. It's only "dirty" because the Giants weren't going all out, that's not tampa's fault.

Tampa wanted to go full retard on the kneel down....where were they when they gave up 24 in the 4th quarter?shel311 wrote:mbyrd75 wrote:Brandon weeden knows a thing or two about fumbling the snap on a kneel down. Troy recovered only because they were rushing and didn't just stand up.

Do you want examples of players being outraged over getting hit in the knees by helmets/getting hit low? There are plenty.
You've got a bunch of guys lined up at the line of scrimmage, some are coming high, some are coming low. If the offensive line does that to a defensive player, it is a chop block. Why is it not reasonable to compare that when the defense does it?

a chop block is when one player engages, and another player cuts his knees out. What TB did was called cut blocking which is completely legal.dakshdar wrote:I have to play football to talk about football?nick wrote:what are you making up? I said that I thought hitting the linemen low when there are also guys coming at them high should be treated like chop blocking is treated when the offense does it.ajalves wrote:who said it was illegal?shel311 wrote:Bear, dlines do that in every short yardage situation. Re: NFL Thread
when theres less than 2 minutes left in a football game, if the losing team is on defense, they shouldnt try to make a tackle. its bush league to try and get the ball back to win the game.
Re: NFL Thread
Yay Manning!
I'm in a fantasy matchup with a 10 point lead and Prater vs Manning. Now have a 16 point lead.
