Re: My Shout Out's
All Im saying is for the NDL to be relevant and succeed going forward other options will need to continue to be offered during offseasons and active during the deleted third season.
I agree with all of his other statements.

Re: My Shout Out's
I mean i get that all the other things might be better but the point is PLAYING your ncaa games is your pass to all those other great things. Alot of us don't love the way the game plays but thats what has to be done to be able to do OOTP or Madden or the Covers league or any of the other 20 things some of us do. If the NDL isn't "about" ncaa anymore thats fine but if you join you make a commitment to play your games no? He's not saying kill the other options he's saying fulfill your commitment to be able to enjoy those other things

Re: My Shout Out's
while i agree with what you and shel are trying to say... 2 points:Cnasty wrote:As stated numerous times, the NDL isnt about NCAA and hasnt been for about the past 2 or 3 commishes.
The product is not what it used to be and has been overcome by a wider variety of better products in the PS3 realm.
In the PS2 days NCAA dominated, not anymore on the PS3.
The NDL is more about the boards and what branches from it which is what makes it great. If the NDL was solely about NCAA, this league would have been dead 2 versions ago if not earlier.
I understand what you are saying but being the businessman you are it would be a terrible business move to cut all the other (more popular) avenues of the NDL.
Just my opinion from someone that cant stand the game anymore and have better things to do with my time.
Cue the "Im so busy!!!" blah blah blah comment.
1) we've always had an unwritten rule, this isn't something i made up myself, that you needed to play your NDL games to have access to other leagues or stuff the NDL provides
2) the 'product' of NCAA is great and more than enough for this league to survive and thrive. the fact their are so many other great gaming options is the problem.
i also disagree that NCAA hasn't been the priority... i haven't noticed that anyways. yes, alot of guys do other things like COD and FIFA and stuff, but this has always been an NCAA focused community.
and ..... despite this conversation, i don't think we're doing all that bad with games played anyways.

Re: My Shout Out's
i never said anything about dumping the other stuff.Cnasty wrote:All Im saying is for the NDL to be relevant and succeed going forward other options will need to continue to be offered during offseasons and active during the deleted third season.

of course i want that stuff... i participate in most of them and they keep guys around the boards who might not come as much.
but not at the risk of them diluting the NCAA league that our forefathers fought so hard for us to have!

games played is on par with what it always is at this point (in general)

I think I misread a lot of what you were saying, my bad.DRiccio21 wrote:i never said anything about dumping the other stuff.
I totally agree with you then. Thats partly why I resigned. I know I couldnt keep up the pace and it wouldnt be fair to the commishes as well as my opponents to drag them through an hour and a half to play a boring game with me as well as a pain to schedule me.
Throw in my interest in the game was at an all time low and it was my time to give my spot to someone more interested in enjoying NCAA and the NDL.
Re: My Shout Out's
I think most of this Madden, OOTP, and such stuff should be forced to take place in the new eight month offseason, especially being that it uses the NDLs boards. Instead, the risk of people getting burned out with a massive full plate right now and none of those side leagues actually being there when we hit this new LONG offseason is real.
Re: My Shout Out's
the ndl would die with Dave in charge lol.
Re: My Shout Out's
tough to do that because certain things (madden in September) have more momentum at certain seasonal points of the year.Block M wrote:I think most of this Madden, OOTP, and such stuff should be forced to take place in the new eight month offseason, especially being that it uses the NDLs boards. so instead of making firm rules like that... do whatever you want... just play your NCAA games first
we also used to boot guys out much quicker... i don't keep up with the farm so i have no idea how plausable that is this year.

Re: My Shout Out's
Thats lame. Push to get caught up? Why should that even be the case? Its not hard to play 2 games a week imo. Gtfoh with get caught up. Some guys post for days, weeks in scheduling threads, then the end of season timeline gets posted, and HERE THEY COME! Hey can u play now? Lol cmon, dudes cant play 2 games a week, but they can play 5, 6, 7, 8 or more games in 10 days? Lmao!ajalves wrote:games played is on par with what it always is at this point (in general)

Its how its always been, and quite frankly its the only way it (a league of this magnitude) will work. Take my word for it.
I can explain further if need be

Re: My Shout Out's

its 10000% not plausible.
to put it in perspective, and I am not quite as involved behind the scenes (dealing with the farm) as in the past, but there are probably 20 + guys who if it was NDL season 10 wouldnt be in the league for various reasons

Re: My Shout Out's
How can it be that "its the only way it will work?" everyone here agrees to play 2 games a week. So if you dont, then get behind and play and win say 2 or 3 games to meet ur win goal, then you just forefit the rest of the open games that u needed to play?
If thats what it takes to make it work, then i aint playing shit till the end of season timeline comes out. First to get the WG then deuces to my other games that needed to be played.

I understand...I mean we are dealing with over 100 different people's schedules...but EVERYONE in here has access to the internet...and 5 minutes to respond to a scheduling thread. If a guy says to me he has a crazy schedule the next 4 weeks then I wait till after to play him, no biggie...but at least I know whats going on...instead of posting once or twice a week, no response, thinking the guy has gone ghost and then suddenly with a few days left he is ready to play...and then i look like the bad guy if I can't work it in on my schedule because I have finished almost all my games and have other stuff to do.
I understand the dynamic...its just frustrating.

Re: My Shout Out's
Worry about making our slow ass, crashing Madden league a success and leave the NDL in the capable hands of Matt.

Re: My Shout Out's
ok, so we should "sim" ever couple blocks all unplayed games? then if you have unplayed games, we should boot you out? fine. who replaces those 45 coaches who are a few weeks behind?swellvermin wrote:How can it be that "its the only way it will work?" everyone here agrees to play 2 games a week.
