I thought I left a comment. If not, here's mine:

Quest is still bitter from when I beat him in the first Bicus Bowl championship with my upstart Arizona State team. At least I think I played him and I think that was my team. It was a long time ago. That said, he's a great guy and I'm glad he's in the league. Except when he beats me. When I lose I give him all 1's. ;-)

Thanks to my fumble in OT on a first down conversion  Thanks for bringing up bitter memories LOL That game is still a classic to this date.

I finally have a winning season and i get hammered on my coaching reports. The last 2 seasons I have a losing records and I get 93 and 98,I win some games and my score drops over 20 points. No one cared how I played when I lost, win some games now I'm doing things wrong. Haven't changed how I played over the last couple seasons so I don't understand the big differnce in coaching scores.

Quest and Darkhawk, thats awesome!!

Gobucks I hear ya man, 20 points seems like an extreme drop off. Some guys here you'll never be able to please. Its a shame too because you know its because they can't take their "L" like grown ass men. Fuck em.

yeah, I got one comment..good reports all around, but hey, I guess if you're going to give a guy a good report there's no need for constructive criticism. I know that I tried to give comments for each of my games, and signed my name too...only a very few guys I didn't give out 5's to...but I tried to put in my report why. That way now, they can let me know if it pissed them off or take what I said and look at it. I would hope that if anyone has low scores that the guys who gave them at least said why. It should be a fun game and we should all be adults. Granted we all get frustrated when we lose (me included)..but hopefully we remember to have fun. By the way, playing headset games really helped out making this a very fun season for me only going 6-6. Thanks to the headset guys!

Sometimes winning makes a difference. My best seasons winning wise are my worst seasons report wise. I can take any points someone has to offer even when negative. But I would like to remind folks that the comments are for gameplay advice. Things guys should do more or less of. Its not for taking shots at guys on a personel level.

just making sure you know that is just Coach Report score (the 40% of the total score) and not your Total Points (which dictates draft order)

After every season this topic comes up.

Usually a couple things come to mind.

- everyone that says they leave comments arent always being accurate...most are, but some aren't

- saying winning makes your scores go down isnt entirely right

- if in your coaches report something is said more than one time, its an issue. ie- "rolls out without pressure"..."too many post routes"..."no variety"...etc etc

- just because someone beats you, doesnt mean you got cheesed, some guys are just really good at the game

Furthermore, below are a couple common things guys WILL ding you for sometimes, like it or not:

- if you PA without establishing the run your ARE going to get dinged by most
- if you run a shitload of screens
- if you play zone a lot (not sure the issue here really, but its true)
- if you blitz 75% of the time
- if you roll out with your QB to take advantage of the AI in pass coverage
- if your main way of throwing the ball deep is rocket/moon balls

Couple things I try to remember when filling out coaches reports.

* score my opponent the same whether I won or lost
* Guys with better rated teams can do things most teams cant
* If you get pissed (relax its a video game), wait till later to comment/fill out the report.
* Dont expect guys to change their gameplay if you do not leave a friendly note explaining why you dinged their score. they arent mind readers.

just some thoughts. Good luck to everyone in Season 15.

**EDIT**
Couple small things I'd like to add. If you run the same defensive sets, the same routes will be open, variety comes on both sides of the ball.

Dont ding a guy for bouncing his HB when you are line crashing the middle, what should he do?

If you are going to user control the player who should be covering the HB to patrol the field, you shouldnt ding a guy for throwing too much to his HB

Guys arent trying to runs plays into the teeth of your defense.

Sorry for the looooooong post. :)

I said sometimes winning makes a difference and here is why I feel that way. I fully believe that someone is more likely to give a negative comment or score if they ended up losing the game versus if they won. Im not saying if they lose they will always give a negative or bad score and Im not saying everyone will do it. I am just saying that sometimes it is more likely to happen when you win that they will say something negative if they even felt one small thing was done to much. It could normally be no big deal in there eyes but when you add the fact the game ended in them losing and they blame that one aspect and they use that as the basis for thier report.

AJ, I agree with the overall post you made and I also agree that the comments section is a huge portion to learn from. If I had no problem with the game then Ill just say good game and good luck. Otherwise I will point something out like saying "Hey the game was good overall but I think you ran a few to many curl routes maybe run a few less next time". But the real meaning of my first post was to say that the comment section is meant for gameplay issues not name calling or making personnel jabs at someone.

maybe coaches reports similar to what AJ said should be posted in the coaches report section for people to consider when making a report. I say this because its the same conversation every season. So, instead of beating a dead horse every season why not make a change in the process and post some guidelines for coaches to consider when reporting. Its just silly if someone plays zone all game then they ding you for using plays that work against zone...etc, etc.

There are issues in which the player himself can control such as dropping back to far, lobbing the ball, and more but when two coaches compete and uses the same scheme all game the other coach should use what works vs that scheme and all until it is stopped. Football is about adjustments....on both sides of the ball.

----------------------------------------------------------

I for one have a few changes to make. I had a shitty season and a bad attitude in season 14. I made the grave mistake of not trying out my team before I drafted them. I didnt expect them to be there. And I paid for it.

I couldn't run the offense I wanted to so therefore it led to predictable playcalling, boring playcalling and at times utter confusion on my part which must have looked to some like wtf is my opponent doing? So apologies to anyone out there who wondered wtf the I was doing in our game. There are no excuses I was not a fun guy to play this season. I wasn't having fun and it had to have shown through to my opponents.

i'm starting to feel like trendon where i'm willing to play whatever comes up against me because if you can't stop it then you don't deserve to win. I do think if it's outlined in the rules there deserves to be points taken off, though.

...dinging people for too much zone is ridiculous on this game because drags or crosses against man coverage are impossible to stop. I also think there's a league-wide hatred for PA which keeps me from using it when i run more than most teams in this league. I've never been lower than 42nd in rushing and have been in the top 12 in 4 of the last 5 seasons, including a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finish, but i'm feel awful every time i use PA and i can feel points being melted off my reports everytime i do it.

...i know this isn't going to change anyone's mind but i gotta get it off my chest because it sucks
