Re: Golfers
Played what will probably be my last round of the year today as I start work tomorrow and won't have much time off. Played the best round of my life and shot 68. Made 5 birdies (4 straight on the front) and eagled 18th by holing it from 60 yards out!

Re: Golfers
I was at Golfsmith just now getting a gift card for my dad and just fell in love with the Scotty Cameron select Newport 2 black matte finish putter. The thing was amazing. The bad news, $350 is the price tag. Not sure I could justify that purchase with PS4 right around the corner.
Re: Golfers
For those of you who use golfnow.com, they have been running a promo lasting until Aug 31. Code FBBOGO13 gets you a BOGO on their hot tee times. One use per account, so I just made another account to use it again.
Golfed Eagle Eye here in Lansing this week, has a replica of the TPC 17th Island green

One of the top 2 courses Ive played. Usually an $85/person green fee cost me $36 total for two, cart and range balls included.
Also hit up the MSU competitive course, gorgeous. Ive been here since HS and its the first time Ive even seen the course

Usually a $50-60/person round cost $18 total for two.

Re: Golfers
Id be afraid to drive the cart off that little pathway into the lake on the island green.

Back when I didn't really care about golf my brother used to work at TPC Sawgrass and could have got us on for $35, and I passed

I worked at a CC in HS, and looking back the course was fucking pristine. There were two courses, and even the 'lower level' course was one of the tops in the area. I had free golf with the job, but its amazing how much I took that for granted. My last year there was my first summer back from college and I was selling at Harley full time. I went in and picked balls on the range for exactly 1 hr/week and still got free golf all summer. That following summer they initiated a policy where you were allotted x rounds of golf for y hrs worked

I love watching the pros play there.
I need to get out. It's been a month. I got a gift card to play Jimmy Austin here in Norman. It's a $100 dollar green fee course one of the nicest around here. I love it, but its way to long for my game.

I wasn't.

to be honest you can play some nice courses down here with a cart for like $15. I was being stupid and cheap obviously

Re: Golfers
My brother is a managing partner for Longhorn Steakhouse. A couple years ago they had their yearly conference in Miami and they had the option to play Doral for free the week after the tournament. He passed. I would've disowned him then and there but the free meals make up for his poor judgement.ajalves wrote:Back when I didn't really care about golf my brother used to work at TPC Sawgrass and could have got us on for $35, and I passed

I'm gonna try to get tickets to the PGA Championship at Valhalla next year. The most beautiful (and unforgiving) course I've ever played. I think I shot about 25 over par.
They're making major changes to the course to make it even harder before next year.
