QBs breaking too many tackles
QBs breaking too many tackles
Anyone else notice this? At least once every drive my QB will break two tackles in the backfield. Against Stimpin earlier, I had nobody open and I'm pretty sure Tuel shrugged off 3 different tackle attempts by stimpin's linemen. So I stepped up and threw a TD.
It'd be ok if it was rare but I break more tackles with my QB than my halfback

Re: QBs breaking too many tackles
My QBs do not break tackles. They get sacked and fumble.
Re: QBs breaking too many tackles
I've seen a lot of it, not every drive but a lot. I was under the impression Oracle had Tebow under center in two different games. A few opponents have felt the same about my QBs.

Good, I like it. The Option Read is working to a point this year also . At least for me it is as I like that type of offense but never been able to run it with any success in past versions. I like the fact that they give a little life to the QB other than just to throw it or go down. The speed of the QB is more realistic IMO also. Overdone on the breaking tackles maybe, but I do like it.

Wish Martinez was capable. Dealer and Miami ripped him a new one. Face in the grass all game

ICE managed to run a few option reads vs me in a couple of games. most of them if you dont square up the first guy and hit the QB head on, he will break the first tackle.

Ran a lot of spread option last night... QBs that should have broke some tackles for me did, QBs that shouldn't didn't. Seemed about what I'd expect.

Re: QBs breaking too many tackles
I think we just got too accustomed to guys like T Pryor getting smashed anytime he crossed the LOS. The fact is, at 6'5 220+, he wasn't easy to bring down. For instance, I played games with C. Klein and T. Bridgewater last night and both of these guys are bad dudes. I tried some of the same stuff with C. Chelf, who has solid running ratings, but he would get hammered. Klein/Bridgewater have significantly (20-25pts) higher Break Tackle ratings. As they should. If you want to see a beast, go check out Denard Robinson... lightning quick and ridiculous break tackle.

OK assholes. I'll be looking for your week 1-12 recaps when you bitch about your opponents QB breaking 6 tackles in the backfield and throwing a 60-yard bomb downfield.....
...three times a game.

QB's seem to be breaking more tackles on zone read plays I have noticed, but in the pocket I have been getting killed. Not sure how you all are breaking tackles in the pocket.

Dunno. Anybody using he "avoidance" stick (R1)? I can't, for me it's like patting your head and rubbing your belly at the same time, NOT EASY!
