Second at bat, he watches a pitch, and hits a double on the 1-0 pitch.
Third at bat, in the 4th inning, he watches ball 1, and watches strike 1....and hits a single.
He was 3/4 of the way to a cycle in the 4th inning and on the first 3 pitches he swung at. He didn't get the homer however. That would've been an awesome way to start.

The #1 overall pick is officially on the trade block!!!
Speaking of trades, my 2 big offseason acquisitions have wasted no time becoming acquainted with the Sheltown Trade Curse. Ba is hitting .190, and Mews in 2 starts is 0-2 with a 9-58 ERA. Good times.

OPENING WEEK NOTES STREAM
- Congratulations to Louisville for winning their first game in their first try, getting 7.1 innings of shutout ball from Oike. Oike has now won games in the NPB, USBL, and NDLB.
- Houston nearly pulled off the same feat until an Owens double got Miami the win in the bottom of the ninth.
- New England's return to New England was a good one as Lance Pearson outduels John Allen for a 3-2 win.
- The Pipeliners get embarrassed by Philly in their first game under their new name.
- Akihisi Rin hits his second home run in as many days and Ed Dostie hits two as former Red Leaf/Warrior players come back to torment Toronto.
- What a miserable fucking game in Chicago for the Hawks/Sandstorm game. It was raining, 40 degrees, with winds up to 17 mph ... and they had to play eleven innings.
- A six-run tenth secures Louisville's first series win!
- Bob Baker one-hits Carolina through 8.1 and Fernando Salazar manages to get the final two outs on two pitches.
Looks like SoCal is picking up right where we left off last season... Kyle Edgar out 2 more weeks and now he's joined by the other SoCal super slugger, Pedro Cisneros, who is down for a month. Nothing like giving the rest of the PL a nice 1 month cushion to build a lead on us.
