Re: Season ticket?
I got it just to play FIFA early... I've used it to download and play Tiger early and I'll use it for NCAA obviously. Is it worth $25? IDK, close. If you're going to get a good weekend or 2 of enjoyment out of the download before it's released, probably. If you buy things from EA online, like packs of cards for FIFA Ultimate team, then it certainly is, because you get a 20% discount, I think it is.

Re: Season ticket?
I think the fact that you get an early three day rental for five games is more than worth $25, especially when four of the five are super hot releases.
I'm debating though, I'll definitely use it for FIFA and NHL, most likely Madden and of course NCAA BUT I'll be on vacation until Saturday so I'm debating to buy Season Ticket now or wait until Madden or NHL releases and have NCAA 14 fall under my calender year since I'd pretty much be wasting a day and a half of the three days for NCAA 13.

Re: Season ticket?
My only issue with season ticket is I still have to go buy the game. I would have signed up last year if you got to download the entire game early and keep it as a downloadable.

Re: Season ticket?
but Matt, then they would be giving you 6 games for $25
It's worth it, as stated earlier, if you're buying DLC; it's also worth it for me when you factor in the value of:
The time/gas you save not running around looking to get the game early
The time you spend waiting in line at Gamestop the night of release

No. I still buy the game but I get it as a download.
So after the 3rd day you can't play it just like now. But this way they give you the option to provide a credit card and boom, game is activated again.

Re: Season ticket?
I'm surprised EA already doesn't do that. Would cut back on people being able to buy a used copy of the game.

Because then it's DLC and can be used on two different consoles.
The disc can't. Two copies must be purchased.

Re: Season ticket?
They can prevent it being used on different consoles.
Also, downloaded content on Xbox Live cannot be shared on different consoles. And it's still not an option there.

Re: Season ticket?
So the game is or isn't downloadable on a permanent basis? I've been wondering so I can go drop some dough on a cheapy used PS3 that actually reads discs.

Re: Season ticket?

Re: Season ticket?
It isn't. It's basically a 3-day demo but you have access to everything. Once the 72nd hour is up you no can no longer play and you have to buy it at a store.Sorocco88 wrote:So the game is or isn't downloadable on a permanent basis? One perk about it would be getting a "leg up" on the competition. I'm thinking about doing it this year because Im really excited for the new physics engine in Madden and wanna get a jump start. The physics engine will be in NCAA 14 as well.
I wouldn't buy it to test new games though. I know I'll be buying NCAA and madden and i know what to expect from Fifa and NHL which are great games.
And as someone said, the discounts you get on DLC are nice but I think it's just if you buy stuff like card packs with real money, which I rarely do. Not sure if it provides a coin discount.
Oh, and you also get a blue "admit one" type ticket next to your username lol

Re: Season ticket?
And just so I am clear I will have a downloaded version of the game till Tuesday when the actual game releases after that time any info from the downloaded game will carry over to the actual disc version of the game CORRECT?

From EA:
If you have a PS3, you must manually trigger the Early Release download from either of the following locations:
Playstation® Store » Games » Publishers » EA SPORTS » 'game title', or
Playstation® Store » View All By Title » 'letter of the game title'.

Re: Season ticket?
Trophies do so I assume the rest does but not sure.tig5165 wrote:And just so I am clear I will have a downloaded version of the game till Tuesday when the actual game releases after that time any info from the downloaded game will carry over to the actual disc version of the game CORRECT?
Also, it will automatically renew so cancel before the renewal date if you aren't sure you want it next year

Re: Season ticket?
No coin discount, just cash. So if you buy stuff on Tiger, Madden UT, FIFA UT, NHL UT, etc, then you'll save 20%. It paid for itself for what I paid for FUT packs.
It will be available Saturday morning around 6am est, through Tuesday morning 6am est.

Re: Season ticket?
Maybe fifas ultimate team is harder than maddens in terms of getting coins. If so, that's a real good deal.
And jsence said something very key: it's 72 hours from when EA releases the download, not 72 hours from when you download it. I remember some people getting confused last year when it debuted with Madden.
Jsence, correct me if I'm wrong there. Maybe the confusion was the other way around lol

At the very least, hop over to the parentals if need be. I'll chat with my Dad beforehand. Best bud privileges...but you need to get a new system anyway. I want another platinum lol.Sorocco88 wrote:Welp, bump that, Guess i'm out to pasture til the season starts...Matt90210 wrote:It isn't. It's basically a 3-day demo but you have access to everything.
