Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning
Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning
New game coming out tomorrow. I usually don't go for/know about these games, but Curt Schilling's company 38 Studios is involved and he has been on the radio up here in Boston promoting it. I'm thinking of picking it up tomorrow and give it a shot. All the reviews look positive. Anyone else have this on their radar?
Re: Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning
It was also worked on by Todd McFarlane's team and R.A. Salvatore (veteran writer from D&D/Forgotten Realms history).
There is a demo on the PSN Store. I'd check that out (I was downloading it last night but haven't tried it yet) before buying it.

Re: Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning
Pre-Release reviews have been saying that it is a over and above what Skyrim is. Kind of sounds like Skyrim doesn't even compare to it.

Re: Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning
I have not played Skyrim or any of the Elder Scrolls games, but I have heard those are highly regarded. Hopefully this game is good. I need something to pass the time until Tiger Woods 13 comes out.
Re: Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning
Downloaded the demo, about 20 minutes in the sound went on it. I like what I saw and assume the bugs will be worked out of the real game. I'm getting it tomorrow for sure.
Re: Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning
Daughter was home sick from school today so I went and picked it up this morning. I've played about an hour and so far so good, solid base story and gameplay. I have read in places that this game is 200 hours worth if you play the side missions, etc. This will keep me busy for sure.
Re: Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning
I'm picking this up this week. I've heard good things about it.

Should wait for Mass Effect 3.Hoos wrote:I'm picking this up this week. I've heard good things about it.
Re: Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning
I've heard it isn't that good overall. Solid effort by a new company/game-maker, but falls flat in some areas. Follow-up, assuming it sells well, could be better.
When I finish Dragon Age I may give this a shot if it is selling for cheap (I expect that) or may go and play Mass Effect 2 or Skyrim next.

Re: Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning
I have been playing for awhile now and it is solid, but very repetitive. I started it now so I have to finish it, but it reminds why I usually don't go for these types of games. It has served its purpose so far tiding me over until TW13.
