Re: NDLH Season 3
AJ and I are going to be doing some more testing tonight and then i'll have some details up.
i will say this... i hated the game thru my first 15 online games... i thought they tweaked it too much and i was having terrible turnover issues and i couldn't hit a shot and i just didn't like the flows of the game. but after figuring out how to space the floor, call for plays and see the full play art, do some post up moves and play a little defense i'm back in love with the game and i'm 100% confident everyone will like it, with time.
the thing everyone is going to have to realize is that this league is likely to be a full season that is in hyper speed mode so that we can make it a hybrid between playing games and using the sim features of the online association. we will slow it down near the playoffs to allow guys to actually play the games out, but the regular season will be done quickly so we can do multiple seasons and guys who aren't actually playing the games will be able to have some action on a daily basis. for those familiar with OOTP, think of a hybrid between that and actually playing games.
with this hybrid is going to come some issues that we're going to work out. 1) we need to see if users can play the computer if other owners aren't available. 2) we need to see how the advancing features work to see if we can do say a week of sims a day or whatever
the whole goal of league play is to play competitive games with a purpose against quality guys, rather than annoying lobby games. we will be able to do that, have a sim like league and still keep guys who can't play on a daily basis interested.
if this isn't something you think you're going to be interested in, than i'd suggest staying out of the league. but i think this is the happiest compromise. if anyone has the game and wants to do some leg work looking into our two issues above, it would certainly help.

Re: NDLH Season 3
Will coaches be penalized for not playing games in this hyper speed type season?
For example, I would love to just manage my team and not even play. The management shit is the most fun for me but I don't want to hold up a spot if I can't keep up with actual games being played at a pace.
I'm sure you will iron out more details but just wondering that piece.

ideally, no penalty at all. actually playing the games is just a bonus. i'm sure i'll play a ton of mine. but its going to be a hybrid to allow people like you and guys who want to play to both get in on the fun.Cnasty wrote:Will coaches be penalized for not playing games in this hyper speed type season?

but all this is conditioned on our options as commishes to sim games, to let users play the computer if needed and how we can advance the league.

Perfect, love the idea.
I just hope the computer isn't either very terrible or super hard to beat and that causes issues.

Re: NDLH Season 3
That will be the toughest issue C but this game sounds amazing yet again.

we surely don't want them to be 'very terrible'
