Who has an XBOX and

Post by steelcitychaos »

Do you have it connected to the same TV that your PS3 is connected to? Wife surprised me and Picked one up for me for Christmas, If I cant use the same TV then I might use it as an excuse to pickup another TV.

How many hdmi inputs do you have?

I connect through my receiver, ps3 and xbox and cable box all go in there and then one cable goes to the tv.

xbox only work with LED tv that are larger than 60" and have 3D so your going to have to pick up a bigger one. While you are at it, the sound only works if it comes out of one of the new surround sound systems, so make sure you pick one of those up too.

You can always pick up an HDMI switch box.

Right now I have it connected through my TV, so I will have to check to see if I have another set of HDMI plugs, if not maybe buying a receiver will be better than going out and buying a tv.

Do you have one Lytez? if you do any complaints?

Thanks Bear for the informative tutorial that I will use on my wife if I decide to go the TV route. ;)

I had to get one because the tv I had only had 1 HDMI output and my receiver only had 1. It works great. I bought a new 65" that has 4 HDMI, but I still use the switch box. I've got PS3, XBOX360, DVD, and SAT hooked up to is.

Just remember, the reason the xbox doesnt work is due to a very complex pixalation adjustment problem on small tvs. You would explain it to her but its just too complex for her to understand.

See, Lytez gets it. Instead of buying a $30 optical cable for his PS3 he bought a 65" tv. He tried to explain the metrics to his wife but, well you know... its complicated.

I have an 2 Xbox's, one on the TV with my PS3 and one upstairs with kinect for my girlfriend. As long as you have enough HDMI inputs you'll be fine. Also you can connect your Xbox via component RGB cables (Red Green and Blue RCA cables) and still carry an HD signal, although I think it's limited, i.e. no 1080p

I have mine connected with the component cables and it is still 1080p output.

I know you want brwnbear's answer....lol, but I was just going to say you can use component hookups. It will still be HD.

It depends on the HDMI switch box you purchase. I had my original one from FRYE's Electronics and it lasted five months. I purchased another one at Radio Shack with four HDMIs, and it works perfectly. Instead of buying another television, which is always great to have; if your low on cash, the box is approximately $50.00 - $69.00 for a decent one. No problems for the past two years. I rather use the Xbox 360 for shooting games, and the system is awesome.
