LOL, because (fill in business) has our best interests in mind.

No wonder our politicians can go nuts; do something, just NIMBY!

My relationship with a company depends on if I like the product. I don't give a shit of they care bout me. These guys hurt the consumer. These guys are the assholes who walk down a movie line and tell the folks the ending of the movie

That's a bad analogy. They are angry with a company that is supporting something horrible that the government wants. We are just collateral damage. We are always the collateral damage. Sony changes their user agreement after an outage so we can't sue. If you don't like it, you can complain bout Anonymous' tactics all you want. However, you should look at what their target is doing, too.

I hope they obliterate the PSN, even if it fucks me. These clowndicks need someone to stand up for our rights and Anonymous does that.

They're not standing up for my rights. I have a right to play some PS3 when I want. They're fucking with that. Fuck them. I hope their fingers fall off.

They're cowards, no question about it.

I'll decide if I wanna fight for something. These losers shouldn't decide that for me, whether they're right or wrong.

We are the cowards. Sony and Anonymous are not the cowards. We are the ones that say (if you agree) that SOPA is complete tyrannical bullshit!!! But go fuck with them outside my backyard.

I dont get what is so bad about SOPA. So if I have something that I made and another website uses it without my permission, shouldnt I be able to request that they stop using it?

There's the problem--you're reading the face of the bill. That's what Hollywood wants, that's what Congress wants. Read some of the wording and you'll see that it's much much scarier. You think you have freedom of speech? Enjoy it....if SOPA passes, the government can issue an injunction against your website with just the "belief" of there being copyright infringements; ISPs can block people from accessing websites with full immunity, and the people who have their sites blocked/taken down have very little recourse. It would also make it a FEDERAL CRIME to use a proxy like Tor, which I know people use just for safety and security, and for no illegal or theft reasons at all.

I don't support much of what Anonymous does, I'm just privy to some inside information. That said, I somewhat DO support this, and here's why:

Ask 100 people walking down the street what SOPA is, and 95 of them will say it sounds like a body wash.

Ask those same 100 people a question about what happened on Jersey Shore the night before, and they'll give you a 20 minute synopsis including a breakdown of their favorite commercials of the night.

I guarantee you that if something like this happens, more people will realize what this is about and might actually stand up for their rights. There's a reason that groups like this have to take such drastic measures--because 99.999% of this country turn a blind eye to what their government is doing and don't care, they say "let someone else do something about it". Well, the "someone else" is about to, and even though it'll suck for a short time, it just might be what it takes to save us all from a draconian bill passing.

So their attempt at informing the 95% is to take down PSN. Got it.

It's so unbelievably stupid to think that what they're doing is justifiable.

There beliefs and can be great, but the tactic is pathetic.

You're really optimistic about technology keeping us alive into our 130s? I like it.

if you watched through the wormhole, they removed a piece of dna from a mouse and it doubled in life expectancy, and humans have the same dna as rats so it's not inconcievable. I mean, they thought life was gonna end at 50 and we're around to 70-100. They're also working on stuff to kill bacteria that makes us age. They even feel before WE die, well maybe more me than some of you, sorry old folks, that we could live forever.

Technology is moving so fast. This year the processor can comprehend at the same speed as the human brain, and every year it doubles. in 10 years itll be factor 500 times faster or some ridiculous number. TERMINATOR is more a reality.

But I digress, i'll get laughed at for saying this but ya

look up ted tv.

they took a eel while alive and removed its brain, hooked it up to a computer and it was still alive. It would go to the light when it was turned on and when turned off it would move away. They created AI in a mouse (like a cpu mouse) where if it hit something, it would remember, and avoid it next time.

The world is a scaryyyy place. Theyve begone putting ears on rats so that if we lost an ear we could have a perfect transplant.

but that has nothing to do with this, haha

What anonymous doesnt understand or care about is that their activities will always end up hurting the consumer. Dont tell me they care about our safety or our privacy. If they did, they wouldnt have posted the names and addresses of thousands of innocent people. They are just as corrupt as the politicians and the systems they try to destroy. They are attacking SOPA because it exposes them and makes it easier to track down their criminal activity. Its an act of self-preservation so they can feel important.

Meanwhile, the innocent consumer is hurt by not being able to use the products they actually paid for and ends up having the cost of additional security passed on to them. Mission accomplished.

They had their shot at doing something worthwhile and helping thousands of people that suffer at the hands of dangerous organizations. Instead they backed down when the cartels threatend to hunt them down. That proves their level of conviction.
