Dark Souls

I was a huge fan of Demon Souls so picking up Dark Souls was a no-brainer.

But holy hell is this game hard. I've died about 20 times already and I haven't made any progress. I'm not sure if you guys are aware of Demon and Dark Souls but the developers pride themselves on making the game ridiculously difficult. It's a nice change of pace in today's age of gaming since most games are way too easy, thus allowing players to breeze through them and wonder why they paid $60.

IGN gave it a 9.5 as did Gamespot. The game is absolutely incredible and well worth your time, money and frustration.

The game may be hard as hell, but it never feels cheap. The feeling you get when you finally kill that boss who has killed you 100 times is amazing.
