PS3 Fattie RIP
Well, tonight i was just about to play Cane and the shit just shut off. The fattie is gone. I have sent the fattie away once and i just tore it apart this time and got my game out . I know AJ said his was sounding like a jet plane , get rid of it now because its only a matter of time before its gone.at least you can get a few bucks out of it in a exchange. i will be picking up a slim tomorrow, so looking for deals right now.
Been a great trip fattie

I have to consider myself lucky. I have an original PS3 that has gone on two deployments to Iraq with all that dust and she is still working

So if it starts sounding like my ps3 is being really loud then i should sell it and get a slim? I will be hopefully doing this because mine sounds like this sometimes.

Re: PS3 Fattie RIP
Sim loss in the title game!!!
I actually had my season going well, 6 games in the books with my fattie before i got the YLOD. Then I got the slim, and I've never been able to get pass the 1st quarter of a game with my slim.
Interestingly enough, the only game I've ever finished on my slim is my game against Plasma this season. Food for thought lol.

Losses to Kentucky and WMU makes this debatable.shel311 wrote:I actually had my season going well

Oh, I didn't mean "well" in terms of success in winnnig, the 2 TDs/13 INTs was a disaster.Cnasty wrote:Losses to Kentucky and WMU makes this debatable.shel311 wrote:I actually had my season going well

And "your boy" declared you had figured stuff out and was turning the corner for a BCS run.

Re: PS3 Fattie RIP
My last game I finished was my best of the year. I abandoned the run game for the all out air attack in my Cup game against Stanford and played great.Cnasty wrote:And "your boy" declared you had figured stuff out and was turning the corner for a BCS run
And the rest...well there was nothing after.

And now you are gonna have to sit through 11-2 hugme take over LSU (guy is from Baton Rouge), and dynasty them.shel311 wrote:My last game I finished was my best of the year. Re: PS3 Fattie RIP
if i was going to trade in my Fatboy (before it dies) and get a slim. What do i ned to do exactly. restore it 1st?

Re: PS3 Fattie RIP
my fatboy was overheating, took it to a local repair shop and seems to be working fine
50 bucks with a 60 day warranty, hopefully it will last for a few more months

Re: PS3 Fattie RIP
Mine's lasted about 10 months since I did the YLOD repair. Granted, I only use it to stream music occasionally watch a movie in the bedroom and there is a slim in the main room now, but it is still worthwhile having as a media center since the fix cost me about $8 and two hours of my time.

well i just know that Gamestop is giving you trade in value (whatever that is) +$40 this month.
so if they give me the total of say 120 its worth it to spend another 100 or so to get a slim in my opinion.
the fatboy i have has been sent back 2 times already (about a year and a half ago)

Re: PS3 Fattie RIP
That sounds like an equally good option.

Re: PS3 Fattie RIP
take whatever credit they give you. you dont want your new cod game stuck in there when it crashes. then its like ,pay money to get it fixed and get game out or tear the bitch open get your game out but you get no credit for a trade in. personally, get rid of it now before you get nothing at all. i wouldnt steer you down the wrong road. get what you can in regards to money out of that fattie before it implodes.
Re: PS3 Fattie RIP
cool
original question. I assume if i restore it before bringing it in all my log in and CC info will be 'safe'
