Evolution of the NDL
Re: Evolution of the NDL
It blows my mind I've played 25 games of Madden no problem and every other game on the PS3 minus NCAA 12. Wisconsin was going to play for the title I tell you!

Would this include eight month offseasons?Hoos wrote:Less seasons, but higher quality, means that we lose less people. We typically lose more people in the 3rd season. By losing less people, we have a better chance of growing the Farm back to where it should be.
Gentleman, I’m offering you Hooscare. Don’t be scared of change. A healthier NDL is a better NDL.
Seems like it would hard to "round up" everyone come July after that long of a layoff.

Those look worse than Nole's.DRiccio21 wrote:step yo game up
They look charred to all hell.
Anyways, I have wanted to step down a lot of times as well and not due to the league at all but the game is very boring to me and its more of a chore now a days to get games in.
The NDL is amazing and the only reason I continue to play this damn game and I have considered retiring but with Nole pumping his chest out saying he will restrict board access, I go through the motions and continue to be a quality (not skills wise) coach in the NDL. It doesnt mean I dont do recaps, I still do stats, still give honest feedback on coaches reports.
With that being said, the NDL will never die!!!

Re: Evolution of the NDL
reign's post gave me an idea... we could always give guys a bonus point for referring a new coach that actually makes it to the league.

Re: Evolution of the NDL
if the NDL went to 2 seasons, it wouldnt die. The Online Dynasties run year round and with about 5 of them, thats 60 people (assuming everyones diff) or half the league. Dave's NBA league is another 32 people. You got soccer starting up, Cod MW3 coming out, a branch of NHL'ers in the north, the NDL is like a community now.
I admit, I'm a piece of shit sometimes, but I love this place and I hate when people quit

I have played in a couple of long running OD's on Utopia for the last few years and love playing the other guys in my league but grew tired of all the games against the cpu and how cumbersome recruiting has become. We do write ups after our games on the forum though so it's a little different than the average OD so that transition to the NDL was easy. However, when I stumbled across an posting for the NDL I was immediately hooked. All user games for an entire season over the course of three years per release AND you get full stats for all the teams and write ups. It was like striking gold for me.jsence2 wrote:ReignOnU wrote:- Implementation of Online Dynasty: The average guy that wants to play a season does it through this mode.
+1,000,000
Especially when you add in the "newness" of each season by having new recruits, guys graduating, etc....and no stats to keep up with, no recaps to do, etc.I just wish I had found out about NDL a long time ago because it sucks to have missed out on something so great until now.

Pretty much since he got remarried, yes.BIGmike wrote:So Nole is an awful cook.

Def agree with nick for once. This place is a community and for people who are hard core only NCAA 12 players then join an OD, still get user games in plus added features you do not get while playing in the NDL.
That and Dave's NBA league alone would keep me in the NDL. I can not wait for the next NBA season to start. Fuck the lockout, I rather follow the box score of an NBA 2k league anyday.

Re: Evolution of the NDL
I had a buddy in the Farm for over a year (four seasons) and never got much feedback on his gameplay, what he could do to improve, etc., so he just gave up trying when '12 came out. I know its anecdotal, but thought Id mention it.ReignOnU wrote:

Lots has changed since Ive joined. I was 16 when I started, which is crazy to think about. The game itself has absolutely taken a back seat, but I dont plan on going anywhere

Re: Evolution of the NDL
Thank you for your question Block. Hooscare is all about playing games and not about sitting around for 8 months. I propose that there are several different options for a 3rd season. Basketball and soccer have been very popular and we could go that direction. Certainly, an NFL style football 3rd season is available for those that are interested.Block M wrote:Would this include eight month offseasons?

Instead of forcing a 3rd season on everybody we provide several options that keep all the fine people of the NDL around. There are a lot of options out there in gaming world and it’s time to diversify the NDL.
Re: Evolution of the NDL
I thought he was just going out...didn't know he signed his life away again. I guess when Nole is skatin' on rainbows Nole is really skatin' on rainbows.

Re: Evolution of the NDL
looks like we will have at least 2 people join this next season... we have two farmers ready to come up?
Also what is up with farmers leaving as soon as they hit the NDL? I haven't heard anything out of phreak or yogi since they joined.
