I remember between NCAA 2004-2007 being obsessed with the game. I was excited to play in big games and that the demand for a spot in the league was simply insane. We used to be very selective in who we allowed into the league and would just tell people to get out if they didn't live up to our standard. Now we don't have those same guidelines due to a drastic decline in interest for the game and have to be much more lenient in who we allow into the league just to fill up spots. Do I hope the NDL is around in 4-5 years? Of course I do. Do I think it will be? Who knows.
lol, thanks for your input tom

Some things to consider about why we have a 'lack of' quality new coaches:
- Implementation of Online Dynasty: The average guy that wants to play a season does it through this mode.

- We've grown with the game: Many of us started playing in our video game prime and have grown with the game. New guys don't have that connection to it.

- No League Daddy: Yes, our site is insanely better, and this goes hand in hand with Online Dynasties, but without League Daddy being used, this is one less avenue for promoting the NDL.

- We Post HERE!: It sounds strange and jsence mentioned it, but he goes to work, and pops open the NDL forum. I do the same, as do many others. What we don't do it pop open all of the other forums. We've built an awesome place to hang out and BS, but because it's so good, we stay here and do it and never head to other sites and promote what we have.

- The Farm: Not being critical of the Farm, but I never hear anything about it any more. What is going on with it? Is it running? How active is it? Does it need more apps, more help from NDLers?

Those are just some things off the top of my head that effect us. I'm sure there is a lot more.

Someone should post in gamefaqs about our league... get the word out that we are in our 20 something season. we're bound to get 1-2 from that.

Especially when you add in the "newness" of each season by having new recruits, guys graduating, etc....and no stats to keep up with, no recaps to do, etc.

If we start allowing people to play on 1-button mode my 8 year old will be down. He's awesome unless he has to push anything other than X. This would probably benefit some of the current owners. Uuaww, AJ, me.

I would think the ndl would help in that aspect. How often you go online and people are looking for online dynasties, im sure most fall apart. This site probably has 4-5 online dynasties that are awesome (I have no idea since I've never used it)

This has been a great thread. I was an original member and was unfortunately thrown out (quit a game in the 4th quarter because I cared too much and was being incredibly cheesed in a BCS bowl game) and back then was easily replaced. This league back then was so important to me and the day I got tossed I kinda just left and never tried to get back in after a few offers from JeffMo to be put into the farm. I knew I would sit there and rot though and never be called back up again.

I moved to college and when I came home I was playing NCAA on my brand new PS3 and was thinking "they prob won't take me but lemme gie the NDL a second shot." SO glad that I did. I couldn't imagine this league no longer being around because the conversations simply are too damn funny. I mean I can not picture a day of work going by where I do not swing by this message board.

I really like Hoos's idea of only having two seasons. I feel like the stats and recaps get very old at times (and I am not too good at doing them anymore) and maybe a small change here and there may help. I will say I will be in the minority when I say this, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE no one take this the wrong way (especially you holmey because your amazing at what you do) but I actually miss leaguedaddy.

It's funny this is the first season ever where I did not care if I won or lost and just had fun getting away from work or anything else for an hour and knowing my opponent would play good straight football. God bless the NDL!

I'm convinced the only reason I win games is because of lag which I have adjusted to, like playing in bad weather in real life.

What's funny is online dynasties are what led me to the NDL. I have played in a couple of long running OD's on Utopia for the last few years and love playing the other guys in my league but grew tired of all the games against the cpu and how cumbersome recruiting has become. We do write ups after our games on the forum though so it's a little different than the average OD so that transition to the NDL was easy. However, when I stumbled across an posting for the NDL I was immediately hooked. All user games for an entire season over the course of three years per release AND you get full stats for all the teams and write ups. It was like striking gold for me. I just wish I had found out about NDL a long time ago because it sucks to have missed out on something so great until now.

Less seasons, but higher quality, means that we lose less people. We typically lose more people in the 3rd season. By losing less people, we have a better chance of growing the Farm back to where it should be.

Gentleman, I’m offering you Hooscare. Don’t be scared of change. A healthier NDL is a better NDL.

LoL, why did it just now dawn on me that is where I knew your name from. I made those posts on Utopia. I think we even exchanged a PM or 2 over there. Old age is killing me.
