Yea, I've become a huge open world fan.

From the little I've played it does seem pretty open as you can pretty much move around the place, however based on skill level and what you've already done, i.e. getting vehicles and what not, how far you get is going to be limited before you're swarmed. Definitely an interesting game and I'm getting used to the fighting mechanics. I'm loving taking baseball bats with nails to zombie heads.

Dead Island = Left4Dead + Dead Rising + Borderlands.

It isn't perfect. It isn't going to blow you away with the visuals, though they are good. The sound is awesome. It does a great job of sucking you in and making you feel like you are there. The combats is a little off at first, but once you get used to it, it is an afterthought. Only real issue I have is the driving. I haven't looked at the book to see if you can change views and have only driven once, but I have never been able to drive for shit in first person. An the view isn't that great to begin with here, you can't see the left side of the car and you drive on the right side. Other than that I love it.

Rage wasn't doing it for me so I swapped it for Dead Island. Will be firing it up tonight.
