PS3 "Fix" ... Fixed My Checking Account

I just checked my bank account and found out these idiots charged me for fixing my PlayStation, apparently including postage. The problem? They didn't fix it; they said they couldn't and mailed it back to me. Luckily, I am going to be in the area Wednesday. A few years ago, this would also result in me being arrested on Wednesday but I have (somewhat) matured.

I finally had to break down and buy a slim yesterday. I was getting a disc error message while playing. It loaded fine, I could start a game, but always ended in a freeze.

My issue started when I returned from Costa Rica, so I just assumed it was that something got loose while it was in transit. I had some money issues when I got back so I didn't try and fix it until May. The basic problem was that it would not recognize any internet connection and your exact problem. No YLOD or anything like that.

"Sure, we can fix that!"

I get a call three weeks later (mid-July) saying they can't repair the machine. I get the fatty back about 15 days ago and I got charged four days ago. Idiots. I ordered a slim through Amazon last week and is scheduled to arrive Thursday.

Honestly, I've given up on that sort of attitude. Yeah, I might get nasty, but the worst I will do is knock something off the desk, tell them to go fuck themselves, and walk out. I've gotten in so much trouble over the years for "threats" and fights that I've just said fuck it. I haven't been arrested since 2004 and I'd like to keep it that way ... forever.

I bought two PS3s after what happened to me two seasons back. I bought them at Costco for $250.00 a piece, 160 GB in March. If you have a Costco around you, try to see if they are running specials. But I heard that the PS3 will be getting a price decrease soon.
