I wish they'd improve (or downgrade I guess) the super MLB's that just about every team seems to have. I'm sick and tired of seeing those guys elevate 6 feet off the ground and break up passes thrown by a QB who's 15 yards in front of them.

AGREED, the defense on heisman seems super powered at least vs. the CPU. I am finding it very frustrating so far.

It's not like this is a recent problem either. It seems like every team has one of these guys roaming around and it's been like this as long as I can remember. The starting MLB at WKU shouldn't be able to break up a pass intended for a WR on a sideline streak route simply by jumping straight up, especially when he's 10 yards from the LOS.

I agree the defense is better, but I don't believe the LBs jumping are a problem in this game. I have seen them knock plenty of passes down, but no crazy jumps/teleporting to the ball like in some of the past games. I think perhaps we just got so used to being able to pass the ball over middle against zone coverage with little resistance.

This and the fact it's so hard to get the ball off this year. I've had so many plays where I've hit the button the QB does the arm motion but is just sacked instead. I even had one glitch play where the QB got hit, did the arm motion and the ball got thrown like a rocket and straight at the WR, all while the QB is in mid air going down on his back.

Also is anyone else having trouble finding the button combination to make passing to recievers the same as last couple of years. Seems to me that depending on the play the WR buttons will change. Is anyone noticing this or am I just a little slow in the head.

heres what i've noticed:

-- if your oline is better than the opponents dline you'll be able to run effectively. and vice versa
-- you need to let the blocks work (its been like this for years but some guys still just speed burst right after getting the hand off)
-- bruising rb's can be effective almost like body punchers in boxing... they may not hit the home run but they fall forward, they break initial tackles and seem to be effective enough to use unlike other years where if you didnt have speed you were pointless.
-- an accurate qb can still throw the ball just fine
-- you need to be quick on your passing reads and stay in the pocket or you'll get bumrushed by opponents dline
-- when passing you need to have touch on some passes. for example, on a slant pass you need to lob it over the lb'ers head if he's sitting back so either you need to hit up on left stick or tap the button and lead the guy a little. its certainly a little trickier than years past when you could just smash the button and throw a bullet as soon as he had a space.
-- its important to lead guys on throws
-- ratings seem to matter alot. i don't see a particular area that 'works too well' but i see whenever a highly rated guy is around that he usually can dominate. again, seems obvious, but in years past you didn't necessarily need to be a great player but just fast and you'd be good.
-- special teams are more fun. punt/kick returns are possible, bigred blocked a punt against me yesterday when i was punting out of my own endzone. good stuff there.

overall i get why people are complaining that its 'too hard' but we were complaining it was 'too hard' last year and thats why we played on AA and we were more than fine by the end of season 1 on offense. the passing is tweaked a little bit to benefit good qb's and guys who have good touch throwing, i don't think thats a bad thing and i think the good guys will still be awesome passers and the shitty guys will still be shitty.

The biggest (and pretty much the only) gameplay issue I have is that the pass defense seems to be telepathic. I don't know how many times I have seen DBs with their back turned running with a WR, then all of a sudden their spidey sense kicks in as the ball is thrown to a different receiver and they magically know exactly where it is going. Their closing speed is ridiculous too.

Only played 4 game but loving it so far. Seems like you can put together a game plan and run it. It also seems like people are paying for making stupid decisions in the passing game where in years past you got away with those decisions.

This irritates me as well. In zone plays I've seen defenders come up to cover 1 reciever but as soon as I hit the button to throw the ball they can reverse course and be 5 yards back by the time the ball gets there.

Im not throwing interceptions. I have like 2 seconds it seems before I get sacked half the time. Either the cpu is jamming the crap out of my wrs or a dlineman bursts through immediately. So far, Heisman =let the defense do the work for you. I don't like it.

I rarely complain about stuff like this. I usually am able to adjust quickly. So far, it has been really frustrating.

I agree with this. I ran back a kickoff last night against Wasted Memory. That is the first time I've returned a kickoff since I played Doc in the first game of the season in my last season with Ball State.

Play action is completely useless for me. I almost never use PA but I've just gone ahead and removed all PA passes from my playbook this year. It's impossible for me to get off a pass after my QB has gone through his PA animation. The defense either already has him down or will do so very shortly.

Same here. It's bad in M2M coverage too. I'm pretty good at timing the curls, comebacks, and outs but it seems like the DBs are turning instantly and recovering at superhuman speed.

Peay, I've noticed that when playing the CPU they blitz the shit out of you. This could be where you're having problems getting a play action pass off.

when you're playing the computer you have to switch up your snap count or you'll be sacked non stop.
