Nascar 2011
I know some of you stated that you have the game.
What do you think of it?
I am trying to see what it is like before I purchase it.

Re: Nascar 2011
I like it a lot. Only problem is in the quick races online you have the idiots that want to turn around and go backwards. I started playing custom matches with caution on because if you do that going backwards will result in caution, so usually no one does it. Haven't really gotten into the career mode, probably play a little in it tonight. Customizing the car to what you want is pretty cool also. If you get it let me know my brother and cousin have it also and they play pretty straight and a few other local guys may be picking it up in a few days, so we may be able to put together some good races.

Re: Nascar 2011
Does it still let you do the thing where you can upload your own graphics to the car? And if you do, can other people actually see them in the races?

Re: Nascar 2011
Haven't noticed anywhere that you can upload your own stuff, but you can make your own logos and such, but I think you can only use what they give you to work with. Kinda like the Black Ops player card. Yea you can see the stuff on other peoples cars pretty good, especially the stuff they put on the back when your behind them.

Re: Nascar 2011
I am giving this game one thumb up and one thumb down so far. Needs a patch. I have seen three wrecks where the caution didn't fly and if you run out of gas you finish last. It does not matter where you are. I was in about 27th last night, had a green/white/checker and was low on gas, so i stopped in and filled it up to 3.1 laps worth. Ran out literally a second or less before the start/finish and had driven up to 20th, finished 43rd. Another thing I don't like is it does not tell you how many laps there will be to go after the caution. Now for the things it does right. It plays great, much better than the last couple EA versions. Damage is decent, but i have seen (been involved in) a few ridiculous wrecks and the AI cars don't seem to get damaged anywhere near what you car does. Your damage seems pretty realistic in the way it affects your car's handling/aero though. Haven't driven a smaller track yet, but at the bigger tracks, even little bumps on the wall will throw it off a bit. Also, you can run several different lines, there isn't one best way around like the EA version, you have to figure out which you are best at. The best thing is that you no longer have to be super-mechanic to set up your car, though if you are they have advanced options. If you like NASCAR games you'll like this one even though it has a few issues. For a first time effort, it is pretty damn good. Next year's version should be much better than any version EA ever put out.

Re: Nascar 2011
Played for a little while last night and online play seemed to have gotten worse for me. The game is going to need a patch so if you were planning on getting it I would possibly hold off until a patch comes out to fix a few of the problems. Autiger did you play last night and if you did how did the game play for you. The crashes and cautions before the race ever begins is going to drive me crazy.

Re: Nascar 2011
I have played this a little more since the outage. Yellow flags are inconsistent as hell for you. It seems if you spin-out/wreck you have to hit at least two or three cars for the yellow to come out. I have been in the lead and gotten dumped, hit another car and still no yellow. Hopefully, they patch this thing as soon as the network is back.

Re: Nascar 2011
new patch in a few weeks. supposedly going to fix a lot of the problems. I haven't played this game in a while as it got frustrating with all the BS that is wrong with it. I'll give it another try after this comes out. Hopefully, it'll be much better. If not, trade in time.

And one month later........still nothing. Over on the official forum for this game they have been saying "2 more weeks" for like 2 months. This game has been a huge waste of money for me. I haven't turned it on in about a month.

Same here I've been waiting for a patch, but I'm to the point now I don't even care to play the game.

Re: Nascar 2011
Checked in on the forums for the game. After nearly 3 months of "patch is coming in a couple weeks" BS, Sony should finish testing tomorrow, then the patch containing the fixes and DLC cars will be released if there are no issues with it. I would imagine it will be up within a week. Maybe I will finally get some use out of this $60 POS.

Re: Nascar 2011
Not that anyone cares anymore, but the patch is out. Only ran one race so far. Damage is weird. Ran 5 laps out front at Daytona, pitted under caution and the front of my car had holes all over it and the paint was worn off. Other than that, fixed most of the issues. Not sure about the damage to other cars. the three cautions weren't for major wrecks.

Re: Nascar 2011
So, I've been playing this a good bit since the patch. MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER. The AI cars still do some weird stuff every once in a while. Pitting on cautions is still kinda fucked up, but it is better. How many people still have the game?
