why else would a guy refuse an MRI besides trying to put on a show?

he's either hurt or he's not. there are already reports he was showing signs of limping and discomfort in his shoot around

this face will be out in force early and often

Maybe because if it comes out from the results of the MRI that its bad and Phil sits him to possibly rest for game 6 or 7. To insinuate that a player of his caliber would put on a show over a foot injury is a little bit of hating going on by you and Shel.

Your telling me you two never refused going to the docs cause he may tell you to rest and not play? I know I sure and the hell have.

Like I said, I didn't the night of the injury.

You don't think it means the injury is somewhat minimal since management just was completely ok with him not getting it evaluated?
Well I don't know what kind of say management has in an injury and getting it looked at, but I know if my team is struggling and its playoff time I will do everything in my power to not go to the docs so he can tell me im out for a week or two.

Kobes Dr was on the radio today and said at the worst its a stress fracture.

Why would he embellish the injury?

That's not what I'm saying. I am saying why would management allow him to just decide to not have an evaluation. Answer: Because they don't feel like the injury is significant enough to really warrant one. They probably initially wanted it just as a precaution. THen Kobe says no, and they think no biggie cause it's probably nothing any way.

Then, already limping in shootarounds.

It's not nearly as crazy of a conspiracy theory as you're making it out to be.

You are confusing me. Your saying hes making it out worse than it is yet hes limping in shoot around. The guy it seems is refusing an MRI because maybe he thinks its worse than it is and Phil will sit his ass. Thats what I am getting from it.

Or he's refusing an MRI because it's not as big of a deal as people are making it out to be. And like I said, my evidence of this is management simply allowing him to not be evaluated.

if management cared that much they'd say 'either you get it checked or you sit'. they obviously don't think its a big deal.

you don't make a hundred million dollar investment in something and just let it risk severe injury.

This.

That's pretty good supporting evidence regarding our conspiracy theory IMO.

Kobe is like Buss's second son. I highly doubt he would ever experience a conversation like that with Mr Buss.

Bryant declined to undergo any further examination of the injury through X-rays or an MRI, going against the wishes of the Lakers front office.

"Right now, he's not," Jackson said. "We're trying to convince him that it might be a good idea."

When asked what the Lakers' medical staff thought of Bryant's injury, Jackson said, "He won't let them deal with it."

Bryant has a history of seeking private medical consultation away from the team. He privately arranged surgery for his right knee last summer.

Jackson said that if diagnostic tests revealed any more serious injury, it would not affect Bryant's decision to suit up for Tuesday.

"It doesn't matter, he's going to play anyway," Jackson said.

Bryant did not speak to reporters on Monday. The back-to-back Finals MVP declared he would play following Game 4, however.

"I should play," Bryant said. "It's going to take a lot to stop me from playing.

Further proof of the theory, no?

LOL, all good brotha.

One of your rebuttals was that Kobe didn't want the MRI cause if it revealed anything, he was scared they wouldn't allow him to play.

That part I quoted shows that he's playing no matter what. So that's not a reason to not get one. Which goes back to my original thought that the reason is that management didn't think it was THAT important to really demand it out of him.

Gotcha. Its a moot point anyway, just felt like comin at you and Dave cause I had a nice buzz going. I don't really like the Lakers but they will win by double digits tonight. I am going to keep saying that until they actually do........

I know our silly debate is over, but I gotta throw in an exact quote Charles Barkley just said on TNT:

"They're making a big deal out of nothing. If his ankle was hurt that bad, he woulda went and went to the doctor. Everybody knows that."

"If it was hurting as bad as he was acting like it was, he woulda got an MRI."

Though Chuck isn't exactly the best guy to have on my side, as he says some crazy stuff sometimes.

I don't know how Noah hasn't been punched in the face at least once in the NBA yet.

He is the epitome of "that guy" on the other team.

Cheap shot to McBob and McBob gets tossed because of the retaliation is only seen. They even go to the video and don't give a tech to Noah for a forearm to the face??!?!?

Hilarious
