New Keeper League

How many people would be interested in starting a new keeper league this year. No money, just for fun. The keeper league I was in shut down so I'm looking to start one if I can get enough people to join. We can come up with the keeper rules if we can get enough people. I say we need at least 12, but would want to cut it off at no more than 18. Please don't sign up if your not going to keep your team up all season. We only have a couple weeks to get a draft in so we would need to get rolling pretty quick. Let me know if anyone's interested and I'll set it up.

Hey I was just going to post for one as well because I just set one up on ESPN but its a 10 team league and its a potential keeper if enough people were interested. If you wanted to join that one and continue trying to get members your more then welcome! I can go to 12 members if I had to and a keeper league would really be nice.

For sure I would want it to be a keeper, but yea I'm interested in joining. I will probably still make one through yahoo, but I'll join yours for sure if you make it a keeper. You planning on just doing it for fun or for money.

Yea it will be a keeper league now... I am changing it as we speak! Just for fun also not really doing anymore money leagues already in 3. I do want a keeper league so I can keep that going and I had one going 2-3 years ago but it was like a 12-14 team league and we lost a lot of interest quick.

Also the draft is scheduled for Tuesday March 29th at 9:30pm est for my league but I can try and change it if we dont fill up enough spots or no one can make that night!

Also what kind of keeper do you want to have? Keep just 4 or 5 (or whatever number we think is good) or Keepers are based on draft picks.

Also I dont think we can do a draft by Sunday because I doubt we will have 10-12 owners by then. I can do Sunday if you guys can. Just let me know!

I was also going to toy with the idea of trading draft picks for next year. Ex: If someone is pretty much out of it then they could trade someone they probably aren't keeing, but that would help a team that was still in it for whatever draft pick they decided on. I think that would keep everyone more involved as teams fall out of the race.

Yea hitem I was thinking the same thing about the draft picks I actually already set that up in the league. I also put 5 keepers as the limit. I sent you a invite.

The roster is C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, 3 OF, Utility, 3SP, 2 RP, 4 P and 4 Bench spots with 2 DL spots! I really like this set up but I am up to changing it if everyone hates it. My buddy and I can draft Sunday if you can and then Doc can join but we still need 6-8 more guys to form a league.

That set up sounds good to me, I've always played the regular yahoo settings which is basically what you have. I'll go join now and I"ll probably make one through yahoo later tonight or tomorrow if your interested, if not its cool just let me know. Also were you going with head 2 head or the other set up.

Sudden another thing I was going to throw out their for my league was protection of 3 minor league prospects per team. The way it would work is after the draft do another draft through email or where ever, with every team drafting 3 minor league players to protect for the season. Who ever drafted last in the original draft would pick first in the minor league draft and so on. Example would be say Bryce Harper doesn't start the season on a major league roster of course who ever has the first pick would take him and protect him. These players would be available for trade, but if you trade one of your minor leaguers you don't get a replacement guy you would be down to 2 minor league protections. Its just an idea that would need some kinks worked out, but just let me know what you think. I have a couple local friends that would probably be interested in joining, I would have to ask them if they did fantasy sports on ESPN. If your interested in doing the minor league thing I will not start a league and we could try and fill your espn league up. I can also help keep up with the trades and protected players through out the season. Let me know what you think

Doc and Steel can I can get a email from you both... I think we might go with a Sunday draft then... around 9pm est if thats ok with everyone and then just build from there. If anything I can go on a couple of fantasy baseball forums and find 5-7 more owners.

Also whoever else is interested please leave email address and if you would like to do a 3 prospect draft after and have that involved with the keeper. Let me know!

Still looking for 2 more people.... Draft is tonight, Sunday, 3/27/11 at 8:45 pm est. If you want in on the league please let me know. It is on ESPN but it is set up more like yahoo with the roster settings. Don't forget it is a keeper too!
