Re: NFL Thread
Clint Session played the second half of a game this year (can't remember the specific one and I don't feel like looking it up) after dislocating his elbow and breaking one of the bones in his forearm in the first half. That's just another reason why he's quickly becoming one of my favorite Colts.

If I am correct, because since they made this move they would be out of quarterbacks.DRiccio21 wrote:do you understand why it was a bad decision?
Im not saying its the greatest move or even a smart one but why not try the next guy at how terrible Collins looked? Dude threw 4 passes and 2 of them were near picks and he looked ridiculously bad.
Yes you risk Hanie going down and not having a QB but you make crazy risks when its the 4th quarter and its a shot at a super bowl.
Maybe Im totally missing something else but I didnt hear about it once on any NFL show after the game was over and I listened to all the press conferences and crap which I never do. And no I didnt watch Cowher and whatever you quoted.
Questionable, risky, possibly silly move, yes. Horrible, ridiculously bad, burn him at the stake like you said Cowher did...I dont see it. Take the risk, give the kid a shot and deal with possibly an injury later. Hell,Hester can play QB.

Re: NFL Thread
I am gonna defend Cutler here even though I will get jumped on for being a homer. The guy got hurt in the second quarter and then at halftime recieved a cortozone shot in the locker room. Even the Bears center Olin Kreutz went to Lovie and told them that Jay needed to be removed from the game because as he was calling plays in the huddle the guy could hardly stand up and his knee and leg was shaking profusely.
To question Cutlers physical toughness is silly. Guy got laid out more than any QB in the league and missed one game all year. (concussion) He did try to go out for a series and I don't know if Lovie is hiding the fact he may have given up but Lovie said it was the coaching staffs decision to yank Cutler for the remainder of the game.
Hart I understand you hurt your knee, but like you said it was a Joe Schmo league, just like when I hurt myself in HS I thought I could go back in and play. This is the NFL we are talking about here. He has to fit in throws with guys like Charles Woodson and Clay Matthews trying to take his head off, he could not plant and make those throws.
I understand those other guys that played hurt (Rivers, Brees, etc) but they may have hid the fact they were hurt from their coaches and in the end its the coaches decision who plays, if Lovie pulled him then your day is done. I know Urlacher is the team leader but if he is defending your toughness to the media etc. then I am going to take that as they believe Jay woulda played hurt or not. Lets look at it from both sides, not just the, "well this guy is a pussy because others have done it." Everyone handles injuries differently.
Oh and like I said before, I can not stand if one of my teamates goes out there trying to be Johnny Badass cause hes hurt and can't perform to show how heroic he is, because your just hurting the team more than helping at that given point.

I think what you're missing is, they put Hanie in late in the 3rd quarter, and they RAN the ball on 2 plays, then the 4th quarter started.
They could have left Collins in, ran the ball 2 plays, absolutely nothing changes, then bring in Hanie at the start of the 4th without ever having to risk losing Collins's ability to return.
They basically made Collins completely useless for absolutely no reason at all, since they ran the ball twice at the end of the 3rd quarter.
The risk as you said, well they could have done the exact same thing without the risk.

If you go into the 4th quarter to your 3rd string, you can bring the backup back in?
That was never posted and I guess I need to brush up on my 3rd string QB rules. And yes, that makes no sense and you guys are right.

Nevermind, pulled a Shel.DRiccio21 wrote:you can't use your emergency QB before the 4th quarter. if you do the backup is not eligible to return.
(or something along those lines)

Re: NFL Thread
yeah i kinda figured you didnt read that part... cause sure it's not a big deal and there is no reason to ever have collins in a game but to fuck up like that just shows poor coaching/leadership. a coach should know that and never fuck that up.

Nay, they wanted to make sure that there was no possible way he'd ever play in the game again evAr!shel311 wrote:Cnasty wrote:If I am correct, because since they made this move they would be out of quarterbacks.DRiccio21 wrote:do you understand why it was a bad decision?

nope hes a pussy and cant get hurtHart4Heisman wrote:i saw the thing where Kreutz was like "its obvious he hurt his knee, his leg was shaking alot"
i read something that softened my stance on it a little, its because of how he looks all the time, it always looks like hes pouting like a douche.
he was getting demolished play after play @ vandy, and just kept getting back up and gunning the ball into WRs. it was just the lack of exposure, so nobody saw his frowning face on TV all the time.
its fucked cuz it actually makes sense.

Re: NFL Thread
If it were Manning everyone would be saying how bad the injury must be, Cutler carries himself like a douche and people can not stand him.
It doesn't help that Rivers played with a torn ACL in the AFC title game, however he threw for barely 50% and just over 200 yards. For all we know Volek who I believe was the backup at the time could have g\come in and maybe have done a better job because Rivers didn't want this image of being soft. Listen i have played football and played three seasons with no ACL in my knee.......it hurts but there was never a time I thought I was being heroic I just knew I was better than my backup who was garbage when I was in there at 80%.
I just can't stand when guys stay in so people don't question their toughness even though it jeopardizes the team. You see it happen all the damn time.
