Come again?
8-2 with head-to-head tie-breaker over Pats
First of all, that doesn't count as "record". Secondly, the Patriots were one game better than the Jets last year and, unless I am mistaken, Favre left that year. of course, you could counter by adding playoff wins, at which the Jets are one better than the Patriots.

Look, the Jets suck as a franchise. They will never win anything. Be a true Connecticut person and start rooting for the Pats. Do you even get Jets games locally?

Jets are unfortunately third fiddle around here for the most part (media-coverage wise), maybe closer to New York it gets better. Hartford Courant, the Giants and Patriots always get front page, while Jets get an article on third page. At least it's better than the capsules for the rest of the league.

And yes Trendon, as long as they don't have same time slot/network as the Pats, we get the Jets locally.

And I guess my statement read wrongly, I didn't mean cumulative. Since Favre's departure, we have gone to the AFC title game in 2009 and this season, post the best record in the league, tied with Atlanta. Better?

I love the irony when you say this. New Yorker who roots for the Patriots tells me to root for the "home" team, even though New York is just as close to me as Boston is. And don't get me started on the arrogance of that franchise using the entire region as their name. Massachusetts or Boston, pick one.

I hate my cunt mother and hated her from the time I could form thoughts. She is a Rangers/Jets/Yankees fan. I root against her.

He only gets fined $25K for a blatant cheap shot that has no place in football (to the head of all places) and defenders are getting fined more for, unintentionally in most cases, hitting moving targets during the course of the game. :?

Yup, guys are getting fined $50K for helmet to helmets that are at least unintentional, or during the course of a game with a hit.

But Seymour can open hand slap Ben and only get fined $25K.

Hardly seems right.

he dropped like a sack full of potatoes. it looked like a ric flair chop, and he took it with gusto, sting style.

we should really throw up a picture and caption it for the fun of it. we could all surmise at what ben said to him. i can guarantee it wasn't what he said, lol.

I'm still not convinced that ben just pushed him for the sake of pushing him. My first thought when I saw it was that Ben was going to celebrate the TD and it still seems that way each time I've watched it since.

I like the Thomas Jefferson one myself.

Washington [to a young colonial woman]: Would you like to be the second lady?
Franklin [flirting with a pair of women]: Who loves the Benjamin?!

DRiccio21 wrote:they are making Sam Shields out to be a future hall of famer... no joke he was one of the worst cornerbacks i've ever seen in college
Great article elaborating on our point of underachieving Canes becoming NFL studs after leaving Shannon coached teams:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/f ... z164G9xZtS
"Write this down,'' Whitt said of Shields, the Packers' No. 3 cornerback in their nickel defense. "Sam is going to be one of the top corners in this league in two years.''
Much of the credit for that goes to Whitt, who was at his wits' end when he found that Shields had no idea how to watch film, learn defenses or prepare for games at the cornerback position. So Whitt began at, well, the beginning.

"He had no clue. Trust me, no clue,'' Whitt said bluntly. "There was one day, I almost lost my mind.''

thats basically all i needed to read. thats embarrassing.

a part of me thought the talent is overrated and maybe people are too hard on the Canes staff, even tho they do suck. but after reading that, all benefit of the doubt is gone considering all the stuff i watched (the too many men on field, the messed up assignments, the stupid timeouts, etc etc). he needs to go.

the one thing i always loved to hear was when anyone talked about UConn basketball players. they'd always say Calhoun prepares them more then any other coach in the country for the NBA. Ray Allen says that his work ethic, which is legendary, is 100% because of him. That type of leadership is completely correlated to the product on the field. it shows in Miami.

Agree totally. They have the talent as you can see on both sides of the ball and they are not coached correctly. The Packers coach was basically calling out the Canes coaching staff for their lack of preparing these guys.

I honestly think if Miami had a Saban type coach they could easily have 10 wins this season in IMO.
