Dream job
Dream job
Since I've been in the job market this summer, I was wondering what your dream job is? Are you currently working in the field of that dream job or have you attained it? If you are, how fulfilling is it to have reached that position? If you aren't, are you going to try or is a dream job something that you would rather keep out there and just stare at?

I work in IT right now and really like it. Eventually I would like to be a director of IT services for one of the departments at OSU. Probably head back to school to take some classes to work towards the goal.

Priest, when you make it, let me know if you will bring me aboard. I have worked in IT for the past 10 years here at Progressive Insurance.priest19 wrote:I work in IT right now and really like it. Not my dream job though..
My dream job would involve animals. I have owned many reptiles throughout my life and would love to be a zoologist or something of that nature. But at this point of my life, the amount of schooling it takes and then the fact that you have to start off as an elephant poop picker upper...don't know if I could do it.
My other dream job would be Race Car driver.
But that would take me becoming the designated millionaire to have the funds to do it.

Re: Dream job
The job Im hoping to get and interviewing on Monday is for an IS consultant position for our entire hospital organization.priest19 wrote:I work in IT right now and really like it.
Definitely not something I thought Id ever be into but the hours, benefits, and advancement are HUGE so I couldnt pass up the opportunity to go for it.
Ill be hitting you up for some tips if I get it.

Re: Dream job
I see a Vegas Convention on IS Consulting in your future. It just happens to coincide with NDL: Vegas 2. Now you can expense the trip. You're welcome.Cnasty wrote:The job Im hoping to get and interviewing on Monday is for an IS consultant position for our entire hospital organization.priest19 wrote:I work in IT right now and really like it.

For dream job, I was thinking this morning that it would probably be something like what Tony Kornheiser has. He got to write sports for years for a great paper, and now in his "twilight" years he gets to host a radio show and a television show where he can just sit around and talk sports with friends. Not too shabby.

Re: Dream job
Owning a business or series of business that pays for all of my expenses and allows me to not do anything but show up to work and play World of Warcraft or PS3 in the back while all of my managers handle all the other shit.
Whatever that is is fine with me.

Seriously, this.Hoos wrote:Not needing a job would be my dream job. Fuck work.
Remember when I was on house arrest? That was six months and everyone was either saying (before) "You are going to be so bored" or (after) "Dude, you must have been so bored."
Not for one single second. I always had something to do. I played video games, I talked on the phone, I worked out, I channeled the inner Suzy Chapstick in me and learned how to cook a little and even fucked with the garden (until I got bit by some fucking beetle). I was amused and entertained for six months (including my birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) and I think I got sad once ... like the first week.
I say that because of all the comments you hear like, "Oh, I'd go nuts without work. I'd have to get a part-time job." LOL no.
I'd be just fine.
