My point was simply that assuming someone can fight because they're an athlete is stupid. Like I said, google "Joe Cole fight" and see an athlete (who could probably whoop Fabiano) who had to sneak out of a window to get a way from a fight, and was so beat up the cops didn't recognize him.

I'd love to see Uruguay pull off the upset, even though it would kill my fantasy team (I'm going with 5 Dutch, 5 Germans, and Villa). Van Bommel and De Jong are two of the dirtiest players in soccer (go back to Holland-USA friendly this spring and see Van Bommel's tackles on Clark and a few others), and Robben's diving has truly gotten to the point where I'm ready to see someone bury their studs in his groin to REALLY give him something to roll around about. I'm kinda hoping that one of these times he goes down for nothing, that he breaks something because of the fall. Maybe then he'll learn his lesson.

That said, it also means Suarez would get to play in the final

I will go with Spain 2-1 over Germany. I'm still not buying Germany's dominance and I think Spain is being undervalued.

Germany lost to serbia, and beat Ghana and Australia in the group stage. Hardly world beaters. They took on a vastly over-rated English team with no Ferdinand and a back-up goalkeeper. Lastly, they beat a Argentina team that was the last to qualify from South America and had a terrible defense.

Spain faced Portugal, which had led up one goal in the last 21 matches and Paraguay which had yet to let up a goal in the WC. They may not score 4 goals a game but when they control 65% of the ball they wont need to. I think on paper they are more talented than Germany. Either way I think the rematch of the Eurochampionship will be a good game. Whoever wins this game wins the title IMO.

I am hoping for a Dutch German final, those two sides hate each other so it would be a ton of fun to watch. Spain has only given up what one goal though? I mean Casillas is a bad ass keeper gonna be hard to get two past him in regulation and stoppage time.

Yes Pat, because I'm the one who took it there.

Yes, Saint Iker has only given up two goals, but let's evaluate the teams he's faced:

Switzerland--sat back, got a lucky goal
Paraguay--sat back, should've gotten TWO goals (one was given offside and wasn't, and then the PK)
Honduras--not much of an offensive challenge there
Chile--put one past them, but also not much of a challenge
Portugal--a team that scored 0 goals against teams not named North Korea

All in all, Spain has yet to fact a side that you could consider top-flight other than Portugal--and they struggled to beat them, needing a rebound goal by Villa. I know that Spain has the best passers in the world, but they seem to be having two issues:

1) They are not getting anything from Torres, and that is hurting them. Hell, they aren't getting ANYTHING from ANYBODY outside of Villa (Iniesta has the only other goal). The record for the fewest goals by a World Cup-winning team is 11 goals; Spain so far has scored SIX. SIX. In five matches.
2) Del Bosque is DETERMINED to keep Basquets in the Starting XI, despite the fact that he's constantly turning the ball over, not linking well with Xavi, Xabi Alonso, or Iniesta; and despite the fact that Cesc Fabregas has made things happen when he has come on.

If Bosque sticks with Basquets, I see them turning it over and I see Germany making them pay with their lethal counter attacks.

I'm with Brwnbear, the match could go either way for both the points he made and I made. Either way, it should be a great match, and whoever wins it will take home the trophy.
