SEASON 13 MAC PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
MiQuale Lewis - Running Back - Ball State

The diminutive Lewis did everything for the West division champion Ball State Cardinals. He led the league in rushing with 1081 yards. In addition, he caught 35 balls for 392 yards and compiled a total of 14 touchdowns (10 rushing, 4 receiving). Lewis also made an impact nationally as he finished 6th in the nation in rushing yards.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Jeff Thompson - Miami University

Thompson had a season catching the ball that many wide receivers would be envious of. He had 28 tackles and 1 tackle for loss, but what really stood out was his 10 interceptions; 5 of which he returned for touchdowns. In addition, he had 6 pass deflections as he became the true embodiment of the term "shut down corner'. He finished fourth nationally in interceptions and led the nation with his 5 touchdown returns.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Shawn Bayes - Kent State

Bayes was an intergral part a strong season for Kent State. With 1313 yards in returns, he continually put the KSU offense in good position to score, in effect becoming a 12th man for the offense. His return yardage total ranked third in the nation and his two return TD's were fifth in the country as he became MAC football’s version of “The Setup Man”.
