Information for Newbies!

Being a newbie myself, I wanted to post a thread that has some information that we take for granted once we are in the league for a little while.

For newbies…
When you join and are assigned a team, please send NCSUHolmey a PM letting him know which team you have been assigned.
Until you send this PM, you will be unable to submit coach reports or vote in the weekly polls.

Be sure that you read the rules:

Then, start a topic and introduce yourself:

Now sign your coaching contract:

If you have questions about your contract, in your conference, should be a posting by whoever your conference commissioner is.
This is the person that you will go to with questions.

If it is the beginning of a season:

You use this to schedule your non-conference games
If you are taking over in the middle of a season, You will not need to worry about this until the following season.

As far as your team schedule, once the season starts, new weeks open up on Fridays.
You will post in the appropriate week a topic looking for your opponent so you guys can work out a schedule to get your game played.

An example would be...something like:
Idaho @ Hawaii.
Then under this thread is where the two of you will work on scheduling your game for that week.
You can use AIM to help communicate with each other, but you MUST post in the thread so the commissioners know what is going on with scheduling.

35 point Rule:

Simple, do NOT, under any circumstance, beat your opponent by more than 35 points.

40-40-20 Point System:

What is the NDL Cup:

NDL Cup is a single elimination tournament that runs in parallel with the season.
These games will show up as pre-season games on your schedule.

What is the Ladder:

The Ladder is a place that keeps track of wins and losses for bragging rights. Instead of just playing scrimmages against opponents prior to the season starting or even during the season when you have no opponent to play in a weekly game, schedule a ladder with an opponent and put your reputation on the line!

What is the Farm:

Chances are, if you are here, then you know what the farm is, but just incase.


Now, after playing a league game:
If you won:
Input the team stats for both teams and your player stats.

If you lost:
Input your player stats.

Now write up a recap:
Include a picture or video.
You should write up a recap no matter if you won or lost.

Now fill out a Coach’s Report on your opponent that you just played:

Poll Voting.

Vote weeks run in multiples of 2, so vote weeks include 2,4,6,8,10, 12, Pre-Season, Final Regular Season and the Final Poll.
Polls open and close automatically, so make sure to get your votes in before they lock.

At the end of the season, you will receive an email that will contain your total points you have for the current season. Based on this grade, there will be a chart that shows you how high of a level of team you can draft for the next season.
If you came into the league as a replacement coach, you can still draft that grade of a team, but you will not draft until the second day.

The email will explain that you have the option to keep your current team if you met your coaching/team goals and if you choose not to you can enter the draft.

I told ajalves, this is by far the best league I have ever been a part of and I have been in many.

As far as spell checking...that is why I write up my documents in Microsoft Word, it has auto spell check.

i've broken it down thru some investigative research and theniddler is one of 3 people

1) Jeffmo -- i think i might finally have caught him

2) Dr. Tom -- Using this nice guy role to get in the good graces of the commish then he tries to take the reigns
