Definitely not.cdub21 wrote:Jimmy Clausen, Tim Tebow, and Jake Locker in top 10? sorry man not happening, not even close
But Clausen will be the 1st QB taken, IMO.

Re: NFL 2010 Mock Draft
I read locker will be high on draft boards as well in the usatoday. tebow in 1st round. good luck to that team that makes that mistake.
Re: NFL 2010 Mock Draft
I think it is a bit early for mock drafts..
But just some opinions.. no way no way in hell Tebow is drafted top 10 as a qb no way.
Secondly I think Locker stays in school or any qb that thinks they will be drafted by the Browns.. they are that bad.
Lastly, the Texans will not take a wide receiver, Schuab is doing just fine, with what is there. Johnson, Own Daniels (when healthy .. hurt right now), walter, Jacoby Jones (who is getting better as a spread the feild guy) .. You can always get solid Slot WRS and #2 wrs further down the draft. The texans draft defense and draft secondary.. They need it badly.

Tebow in the first round? Not likely, and Spikes and Norwood that late in the first round. Craziness.

and Earl Thomas is only a Sophomore so he wouldn't be eligible for the draft.nick wrote:just one thing. Clausen is a junior so he's played 3 yrs
...i guess good work done, but you really need to check these things out if you want to be seen as a legitimate sports source

Re: NFL 2010 Mock Draft
Thanks for the feedback.
Earl Thomas is a RS Soph..so he is eligible to come out. You are probably going to see the most underclassmen ever come out this year because of the rookie pay scale being considerably less after this year.
You guys are forgetting that Alex Smith was taken #1 overall. Tebow >> Alex Smith.
And think of another thing, Tebow will put fans in the seats so for teams like Jacksonville, Cleveland, and other small market teams, he could just be there to sell tickets. Tebow has been successful at every level and I don't see why he wouldn't be considered a quarterback at the next level. Hell, even Pat White was taken early in the 2nd round last year.
Other note, Norwood probably won't be drafted as a 4-3 DE because of his lack of size, but if a 3-4 team needs a rusher, he could be the best one. Spikes' character issues could have him drop, but when doing a mock this early in the year, you try to go mainly on need and value.

Thomas had a redshirt year I believe so he would be eligible.

Re: NFL 2010 Mock Draft
Good stuff. I would be pissed if the Lions take a DT with a Top 5 pick..They need alot more then someone like that.. Would rather see them take a OT or a DB of some sort.

Re: NFL 2010 Mock Draft
The biggest thing in the draft is positional value. The reason you see QBs, OTs, and Defensive linemen taken high in the draft is because they have the biggest impact on a franchise.
If the Lions drafted a DB I would be highly critical of them, unless it was Berry. And with Schwartz being a defensive minded guy, I see him addressing the defensive line if Okung isn't there for his OT. The Lions made the big mistake of ignorning the OT spot in last year's draft, so at some point they do need to address it.

Re: NFL 2010 Mock Draft
they don't list him as a redshirt on the same site:
12 Earl Thomas 5-10 197 So.-1L S Orange, Texas (West Orange Stark)
...i guess they need to get their shit together

Re: NFL 2010 Mock Draft
Nice work.
I think Locker has all the tools and runs an NFL type system in college could make an impact right away.
I would add Allen Bailey as a first rounder from Miami. He is a beast and will be a combine phenom as well. I can see him pegged anywhere from 10-15ish. That is of course if he comes out and maybe why you left him off all together.
I think he will leave even though he says he will be back.

Re: NFL 2010 Mock Draft
If the Jets draft Lindley I might have to become a fan. I wouldn't mind seeing the Jags take Dunlap, but I think they need to go after a DT or a LB. Then they need to get Mike Smith back from the Falcons.....our defense went from one of the nastiest, toughest in the league....to a bunch of pussies when he left to coach Atlanta.

S14: N Texas 7-1
S15: Wake 8-5
S16-21: Washington 9-4, 10-3, 8-5, 9-4, 7-6, 6-7
S22: Ohio 8-5
S23: ECU 12-2
S24-26: Kentucky 8-5, 5-7, 5-7
Career: 102-61

Yea i know, I was extremely pissed when they passed on Ole Miss OL in the 3rd rd and drafted Delmas, BUt Delmas has been a nice impact but still could use a OL instead.RyanWest wrote:. You are talking about Oher? Yeah, they shoulda taken him at #20 overall last year even though I don't know how good we would be LT. He seems to be destined to be a great RT in the NFL.

Re: NFL 2010 Mock Draft
They did an article on ESPN about the potential of Star vs Bust of 1st round picks. They basically took how many went on to have quality NFL careers and what not. From what I remember, Safety and OL were the safest bets for picking up quality players while QB and RB were the most likely to be busts.
