Holy moly. Good luck man!

In 1985, we had 2.5 feet of water from Hurricane Juan. Granted I was only 6, but I'm sure it was not a fun thing for my Mom to go through.

we are about 30 inches right now but rain isn't expected to stop until Thursday or Friday. Some areas are over 40 inches.

It's one of the crazier things I've ever seen from a hurricane, and I've seen a few in my time.

Did you evacuate? May seem like the thing to do since this storm won't let up for a few more days.

Stay safe!!!

I'm dry for now. but at this point I am trapped in the house. streets are too flooded to get out. we have enough food and water for awhile. we are also luck enough to still have power, too. so...for now...we are good.

IT's been crazy. Colorado River down alonge Bastrop - LaGrange on down to Matagorda Bay been crazy.

Rockport TX is where Harvey hit as CAT 4. All but gone. As close to a total rebuild as you can get from what I hear.

Nowhere near that bad but new Orleans is shutting down today. Expecting massive amounts of rain and our drainage system is compromised. Not all the pumps are working. We flooded in some parts a month ago after a bullshit storm. Here's hoping!!!

read something that said the amount of water we have already received from Harvey is 3x the amount of water that was dumped on New Orleans back when Katrina hit several years back

update this morning...water has gone down some. still can't leave the house but looks promising as there has been a small break in the rain for now.

its crazy the diff between a liquid and a solid. Like thats insane, and i cant imagine a flood like that.. but the flipside is Toronto gets dumped with enough snow that you can make 4 foot high walls walking down the street some days. But since its snow, its annoying, but bearable. If it was like this, holy fuck.

theres roughly 10 inches of snow to an inch of water. so 4 feet is roughly 5 inches of rain, which while a lot, is bearable for most cities who have experience dealing with that much rain. A part of Houston received 50 INCHES of rain... that would be 40 FEET of snow in one storm.

JJ Watt set a goal last Sunday to get to $200k in donations for Harvey on his website.

9 days later, they're over $20mil now.
