Re: New York City
I am hardly big on sights, but we were eating and drinking on the LES and decided to walk to Brooklyn to get some pizza. At first, I thought it was a completely ridiculous idea. About half an hour later, we were getting off the Brooklyn Bridge and drinking right around the corner from where the Atlantic Yards (Nets/Islanders) would ultimately play, drinking great beer and eating great pizza after an awesome walk across the East River.dakshdar wrote: Finally, there is a pedestrian path on the Brooklyn Bridge that runs above the car lanes and provides some great views of the city. Always wanted to try it and never got around to it. I think it would be work checking out one of the oldest suspension bridges in the country.

Where is your bar? I'd really like the swing by one night as we explore.trendon wrote:And if you need any help, I am 20-30 minutes away.
Re: New York City
It is in the suburbs. It isn't far but it is "far" if you know what I mean. It is 28 minutes by train, but it is the suburbs, so you are not going to want to come up. I mean, I love it here, it is a beautiful area on the LI Sound, with tons of places to eat, and the type of community where the main drag becomes a block party every other weekend ... but it isn't a destination. It is the reason why property is so fucking expensive here ... everyone wants to live near the city without being in it.Cnasty wrote:Where is your bar? Re: New York City
Well that stinks.
Not much time outside the agenda of sight seeing and such and the wedding festivities but would be nice to see the infamous bar and catch up.

Traveling up to NY to do some training...for the Yankee's security team! Was considering hiding some Red Sox paraphernalia in the stadium. Wonder if they'd find that funny?
Staying in Time Square and traveling to the Bronx. Should be easy enough.....

In Times Square for casual hit up HB Burger or the Shake Shack. Bit touristy but cool spots. HB had a good beer selection. Shake Shack had better grub.Wasted Memory wrote:Traveling up to NY to do some training...for the Yankee's security team! Was considering hiding some Red Sox paraphernalia in the stadium. Another casual place is Bonchon Chicken- its like a fried chicken and Asian fusion place. A friend of mine owns and operates 2 of their franchises Food is fantastic. Not cheap but they have amazing kimchi slaw. its not your typical fried chicken place.

Joe's Shanghai is of NDL and soup dumpling lore.
If you visit NYC without a stop and a pic, you are exiled.
I will also add a visit to NYC without a stop at the Hallal Guys food truck is a visit I do not want.

Re: New York City
trendon sent me to legit Pizza place when he talked me out of going out to his place. Pizza was da shizzle! Perhaps he can share the name of that spot. Isnt it near the Barclays Center?trendon wrote:PM me if you want my number for any advice or help.
Re: New York City
South Brooklyn Pizza and it is absolutely amazing because, for one, it is delicious. However, it is also extremely different pizza. And, yes, there is one on fourth or fifth (NE T to Cherry Tree bar) a few blocks from Barclay.texasfan4444 wrote:trendon sent me to legit Pizza place when he talked me out of going out to his place. And, yeah, Joe's Shanghai. Make sure to watch the YouTube video on how to eat the goddamn things, though. I'm serious.
