Post by uf83198 »

Hey I run a Father son Fan FBall league for my boys and some of their friends. was wondering what scoring system some of you guys use. Dont want a TD only league, Just looking for some ideas, wanted to tweak our system a bit this year.

they are all pretty generic with the following being the areas that people tweak:

-- 6 pt for a qb td, some leagues do 4, some do 3
-- some leagues start 2 qb's
-- points for a reception or no points for reception
-- some leagues play individual defensive positional players
-- some leagues do auction style drafting
-- some have bonuses for passing certain marks in a game (ie 300 yards passing, 100 yards recieving/rushing)

i'm sure there are others, i always preferred sticking with generic league rules, 10 yards for a point for a wr/rb, 25 yards for a passing point, 6 for td's. only areas that i debate are 6 points for passing td's or 4 points and how to do defensive scoring. some leagues like high scoring defenses that can get 30+ points per week. i prefer leagues where the defense is just another player and is avg'ng between 10-25 points per game.

hope that helps... always enjoy seeing the father son leagues. must be fun to watch games with your boy

Thanks for the info.
Yea the league is pretty cool - 12 teams (6 adults, and 6 kids). All adults in one division all kids in the other, that way 4/6 kids make the playoffs no matter what.
I have 2 boys (13, 11), so yea Sundays its smack talk central and 8 hours of NFL redzone!
