Mac's Heisman watch 8-19-12

Post by UclaMac »

So I know is kind of early but here we go....

1) OK St. Clint Chelf
Not only is Ok State playing really well but their passing attack has been unstoppable. Chelf is leading all qb's in passing completions, yards, and td's. He is also 3rd in qb rating. Combine those stats and Ok States 5-1 record, and you have all the making for a Heisman candidate. Keep in mind he will have some big test coming up against, TCU (95th in pass def), WVU (57th in pass def), Texas Tech (101st in pass def), Baylor (144th in pass def) and Oklahoma (9th in pass def). So the future looks big for Chelf with only the OK game that might keep his numbers in check.

2) Stanford Stepfan Taylor
Ok so They are only 3-1 and have some games to go, but Taylor is running wild so far in his 4 appearances. In his last 3 games he has 7 td runs and is averaging over 200 yards per game. remaining Big games on the schedule for Stanford include Arizona (58th in rush def), Notre Dame (79th in rush def), Oregon (3rd in rush def) and Ucla (9th in rush def). So Taylor faces some tough games coming up we will see if he can continue to carry Stanford to a big season and himself to the Heisman trophy.

3) TCU Josh Boyce
Perhaps the biggest dark horse in the campaign right now, his last two games have been pretty good. In his last two games he caught 10 catches for 351 yards and 5 td's. He is the current leader in td's and yards after catch. But perhaps the biggest reason why I have him on the board is Bigmike is his coach. Remaining big games include Ok State (50th in pass def), WVU (57th in pass def), Ohio State (38th in pass def), Oklahoma (10th in pass def) and Texas (18th in pass def). Although TCU lost today, I still know Mike is gonna carry the horned frogs to a big season, and perhaps Boyce will be the reason why.

So that's all I see right now, we still have a lot of games to be played but I plan on taking a look every sunday till this season is over and updating this list. If you have anyone that I missed, let me know and get those games in boys!

Taylor Helped his case in a ridiculous loss late last night, racking up 450 yds from scrimmage, and single handedly kept us in the game and lost it at the same time with 2 fumbles :|

Good read though!

Wasted I highly doubt I will make it through my schedule with you being my only loss. With that said though with all this trash talk aimed at me I can assure you I will make sure to schedule you year, after year, after year and no matter what team I have. :)
