Help and Tips from Vets please

Post by 6ftdeep »

Hey guys whats up..

I need some help here.. I havent played a baseball game since the ps2 days. Needless to say I am pretty bad.

Right now I just playing RTTS, I am a ss and I played 1 season of Double A ball for the Akron Arrows in the Indians Organization., where I hit an attrocious --

.216 BA% 3 HRs 27 RBI 9 Doubles 60 -70 SO I dont rember the exact number ... Needless to say I suck.

My discipline needs a lot of work, I know. I think I walked once all season except the 5 times I was beaned.

Do you guys have any tips or anything that you all would recommend to improve my discipine and pitch pickup. Or anything helpful at all.

Anything you all can contribute would be much appriciated.

THx

I didn't play the new version very long before I traded it in.

But last season I was struggling, basically hitting .250 my 1st 2 seasons, then I picked up a new strategy.

Going opposite of what one would normally do, I'd look offspeed 1st and foremost, and react to the fastball. Unless you're ahead 2-0 or 3-1 in the count and you know fastball is coming.

I could always hit the fastball really well, but I'd be so far ahead of anything ofspeed that I had no chance. Changed up my style, and I usually fight off fastballs or hit em to the opposite field, but I got really good at waiting on the offspeed stuff and started clobbering the ball, I believe I finished hitting something like .335 in my 3rd season before I got called up to The Show.

Give it a whirl.

Patience is the KEY !!

If you can hit the FB well, then I would prolly do what shel has talked about.

Myself, When I play I tend not to guess jus try to recognize n react, But I also dont have trouble hitting many pitches.

I would suggest maybe taking a pitch or two, CPU tends to throw more junk then good.

Against live players it could be diff.

If you would like to chat sometime about this hit me up on AIM
