A layoff has to do with a free-kick. Basically when you have a free kick near the box, you can call a second player to stand over it. Then you can kick with primary, kick with secondary, OR you can have the secondary "lay it off" into space for a third player to run onto and blast on target.

That achievement is pretty much random as you can get because you can't control who the secondary or lay-off guy will be. It isn't the "passing across with triangle" because if that were the case I'd have gotten those achievements early on.

just did a play where i had a teammate go in box, pressed triangle and passed it to my dude and he one timed it and scored. got shooting 24, score a goal from a first time layoff pass.

edit... got two more achievements doing it that way. only one it doesnt give you is mental 24, im thinking that is what youre talking about

Then something's not right, because I've passed AND scored off those and nothing has happened; meanwhile all the forums online are saying the layoff is the FK thing.
